Renaissance Boston Seaport Hotel

Disgusting experience here that was combined with a terrible employee attitude. If it isn’t awful enough for you to try and get a cup and touch the sleeve filled with snot or clear disgusting liquid. When I called the front desk to make them aware, there was no care, let alone an apology. She didn’t offer to bring fresh cups and said “I’ll let them know”. Super annoyed and disappointed. Do not stay here. Then I reach out to put my power cord in for phone and the space is filled with dust which I’m allergic to. It’s not a hidden place and easy to clean so the hotel keeps surprising me with dirty details.

Fair standards considering this should be at a Marriott bar and that there are still construction works on going. And that’s really it on the positive side.

The worst part has to do with their invention of the “30$ destination fee” which the hotel will charge to you even if didn’t request nor used it!

I learned at check in that I would have been charged with this “use-it-or-loose-it” unrequested 30$ (+taxes) fee and despite my escalations they kept telling me that I had no option.

“Take it like a resort-fee” they told me. Yes…I know what a resort is. And the Renaissance is FAR from being a resort.

I would really like to be educated on what is the difference between this approach and a scam. Meanwhile, I canceled this hotel from my future plans. Never again.

Ah…the licenses of the elevators were well expired when I visited in November. But they said “No worries Sir they check the elevators every week”…yeah sure!

Terrible customer service and no noise control. The people in the room next to me kept me up two nights in a row. I called the front desk five times, and no one answered. The phone just rang and eventually disconnected. I had to get out of bed to go talk to the front desk in person. They did not even apologize. The guests in the next room continued to make noise after security asked them to stop. I could hear them cursing me out through the wall because I complained. The front desk told me there was nothing more they could do. I really didn’t feel like packing up and switching rooms three hours after I intended to go to sleep, but I had no other choice. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Marriott, and I’ve stayed at many as a Gold member.

Just checked in and for almost $600 a night, I expect no mold in my bathroom. No working fan for ventilation and the dirtiest tub I have experienced at a hotel of this price point.

Edit: Provided a different room that is only slightly less gross and has to give up a water view room 🙃. Would not recommend staying here.
