Reviews
We had a lot of problems
1) the digital key doesn't work and they mentioned to me that it is plagued with problems. We call down to the front desk and they would send someone up to help. It took over 30 minutes.
2) the refrigerator was broken, the same person who came to help us also found a working fridge. He mentioned that they have been limited in working fridges while they go through the transformation.
3) the bathroom was filthy, my new wife didn't even want to step into the black tub until she cleaned it.
4) the noise was unbearable and you're unable to sleep past 8am. The noise starts earlier than that but what sounded like a jackhammer started promptly at 8am.
5) the food was outrageously expensive. While they give you $15 a person per day food credit, this helps bring it back somewhere in a normal range. The food was okay but not worth the money as there are much better options near the hotel.
6) Everything is nickel and dimes at this hotel. We arrived a little early and said there would be an early check in fee. We ended up just checking our bags and going for a walk. They also offered a paid upgrade option, which was weird as I thought Gold and Diamond members received free room upgrades based on availability. I'm not sure if this is why we received a filthy room.
The positives:
-Great location to Disneyland, it took us less than 15 minutes to walk there
-The staff was nice and welcoming and did not blame them for the issues as they seemed frustrated as there was nothing they could do. It seems once they are done with the upgrades things would be better.
Overall, extremely disappointed we chose this hotel for our honeymoon and not representative of a Hilton Resort.
I recently stayed at the Hilton with my family, and it was an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the pictures on the website were misleading. The hotel was not just outdated; it was also incredibly dirty. Our shower only had cold water, and the bathroom mirror had a significant crack, which is unacceptable for any hotel.
The room itself smelled strongly of mildew, and despite our attempts to enjoy our stay, the constant noise from construction workers right outside our window ruined any chance of relaxation. We were startled awake around 7 AM by the sound of jackhammering, and when we inquired about changing rooms, we were informed that the noise was pervasive throughout the entire hotel.
Moreover, there was no prior warning about the renovations on the hotel’s website, and the receptionist failed to inform us upon check-in. The chaos began the moment we parked our vehicle, as the loud hammering and drilling were impossible to escape. Every area of the hotel seemed to be under construction, making it difficult to find any solace.
The elevators were in dire need of an upgrade, and the hallways leading to our room reeked of wet carpet. To add insult to injury, the cracks in the parking garage were filled with cement filler, which ended up all over my wheels.
Despite the numerous issues we encountered, the hotel did not offer any form of refund, which left me feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I cannot recommend this Hilton location to anyone.
It started out really rough.
I was told by the valet that I only had 10 minutes to check in or I would be charged for valet for being parked to long, then proceeded to say I would never make it on time due to the renovations.
So I left and we parked in the garage and hand carried all the luggage to the room from the parking garage. No luggage carts were provided at parking garage even though they knew there was limited access to front of the hotel.
Once we got everything up to the room, the digital key did not work. So I have all my luggage and small children with me and have to lug everything down to the front desk. Wait in the slowest check in line I have ever seen. Once I finally made to the the front of the line they attempted to resend the digital key, which never worked, and issued me key cards.
Hauled all the luggage and kids back up to the room and finally got into the room.
Then My daughter noticed there was no refrigerator, which we need due to my daughter severe food allergies and special diet. So I went back down to the front desk where they told me all the refrigerators were removed due to renovations?? But the room was not being renovated. I explained the situation with my daughters severe food allergies and diet and that I needed a refrigerator, I would not have booked that hotel had I known it did not have refrigerators in the room. She offered me a service refrigerator that is on every floor? We were not comfortable leaving the food out of site where it could be tampered with or cross contaminated. (People don't seem to understand, severe food allergies mean possible death if exposed to the allergen.) So I contacted Hilton through the concierge text messages and they were able to get me a tiny refrigerator which we made work.
I understand renovations to modernize an older hotel, but they should have been better prepared to make it as least painful for the guests as possible; luggage carts in the parking garage, if refrigerators are not available as advertised then guests should be aware before checking in, some guests may require it.
The rest of the stay there were no incidents or concerns.
They never recognized I was a Hilton member, water in the room $5 a botte when it is usually free for members.
The rooms were older, a little beat up, but it was clean.
Our only real issue is that we booked a King Bed room and the bed was definitely a Queen mattress. Parking in their lot is also currently around $40 a night so make sure to factor that in when you budget for your trip.
- Bathroom was clearly not clean. Customer service at multiple levels was only mediocre. Price was steep for the accommodations.
