Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront

The location of the hotel is pretty good. I liked everything overall except the gym. The gym was so hot, I was going to call downstairs instead I went downstairs but they were too busy. It was just a very busy day today I think at this hotel. So I elected to just go jog outside this plenty of places you can get. But I wanted to do some freeway send it cut down my time I could handle in the gym. Other than that it’s the typical Marriott. The staff was nice, had no interactions with the maids at all. And very typical experience with this hotel chain.

My wife and I come to Portland once a month, but our first stay at this property was October 8 through October 15th. And now, we will not stay anywhere else going forward!

The service and location are both fantastic. We are Titanium Elite with Bonvoy, and we were treated so well. I don't think it was because of our status, but I do think it is just your norm.

Our room (1415) view was spectacular. Overlooking the river and some of the most beautiful sunrises we've ever seen.

Housekeeping was impeccable, and in general, all hotel staff were so attentive, and kind.

Two shout outs in particular:
1) Terry at Proof.Reader Bar off the lobby was fantastic. I wanted blue cheese olives, so he made them for me. He has a ton of longevity there and he loves his job. It shows! He is so personable!

2) Serafin at the M Club was beyond amazing! Also a ton of longevity and loves, loves, loves his job. What a pro! He opened promptly, checked on us often, gave us a heads-up for last call, and was so attentive, kind, and caring. By himself, he made sure the food was fresh, presented well, he cleaned constantly, and kept an eye on every guest to make sure their needs were met. Hands down he is the best I've ever experienced in a lounge!

Thank you Marriott! In addition to a great property and location, I don't know how you've kept such an amazing staff, but you did. We can't wait to come back mid-November!

The front desk and valet person Elijah was very helpful. The hotel is set up nicely. I wouldn’t recommend for families. The downfalls were no pool, breakfast unless you were a Marriott member and no free parking. All parking garages around the area is at your risk and had bad reviews.

I would say the hotel definitely deserves a 5-star rating. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, and the service is great. Many perks are included in a stay, such as free tickets, food credits, and drinks. (not 100% sure if all types of rooms have the same benefits.)

Room was nice. Bed was comfy. Service was good and everyone was nice. The A/C in our room was really noisy (rattled). It would be nice if there was a nightlight or dim light in the bathroom. The club-level breakfast food was OK, but the room was nice. They only had Pepsi products.

Staying with another couple who you is as great rate. Very clean. Flavor infused over cold water in the lobby. Nice large gym with cable machines and free weights. Great waterfront downtown location. Would love to be able to stay regularly.

I am a Marriott rewards member and attended a work specific conference here. My room was nicely apportioned but the color on the TV was really weird, making flesh tones look green. I really would have enjoyed logging into my own Netflix account on their system if it wasn't for that. The bathrooms were clean, the bed was comfortable. For being a busy convention hotel, the rooms were pretty quiet which I appreciated. My only negatives - the elevators were running incredibly slowly so it was often faster to take the stairs. On days 2 and 3 of my stay, there was no hot water for showering in the morning. In a large hotel, I wouldn't have expected that to be the case. And as a rewards member, I wasn't offered my choice of room type which was disappointing as other convention attendees, who aren't rewards members, were given the option of a king bed, or 2 queens.
