San Antonio Marriott Northwest Mini-hotel

Everything was good, except the electric outlets from the room. My wife needed to use her hair straightener but the volts in the outlet were not enough.

This hotel was nice overall. The staff were friendly. They were so nice that even one girl who was already off the clock and in regular clothes came up offering help. The staff here is the best part of the hotel. They are quick to fix issues when you report them. My fridge in room broke and maintenance guy was there with minutes to fix. The biggest issue here is the hotel is not cheap and they nickel and dime you here. I have been to cheaper hotels that were just as nice that included breakfast. Here breakfast is a buffet and it’s 16 dollars a person and it’s not even that great. in fact, I would venture to say that is the only hotel that I’ve been to where I had to pay for breakfast. You cannot take your food back to your room either. They also do not include internet and you have to pay daily for service like 13 dollars. Also don’t drink the water bottles in your room they’re 6 dollars. I’m actually surprised they don’t charge you for water usage and towels. They have a free gym and pool though but the pool is the coldest pool at any hotel I’ve been too. Elevators are super slow and one was broken. TVs in the room are garbage. They could have at-least purchased real smart tvs to cast from your device as they have limited channels and the tvs tile and pixelate. Your location is between the highway and the projects so there’s that but target is only three minutes away. There is not a single food place within walking distance but you’re only 15 minutes from the river. I honestly would not stay here again unless it was free, as amazing as the staff is I just can’t get over the other issues I would rather stay at La Quinta or even a motel if I’m gonna get nickel and dime, it’d be nice if it was at least cheaper. The Internet is very slow and the process to get on it is convoluted. It’s crazy because one of their highlights for you. Is they talk about free parking like it should be free. I’m paying to stay here. Also check your room because my first room before I moved had a huge dead roach in it so it was that but they were really quick to give me a new room.
