Pepper Tree Inn Tahoe City
Tahoe, 645 North Lake Boulevard 🧭 Map
Warm and cosy - much better than a motel. Nice linen, proper sheets and bedding, they’ve tried with the furniture, alpine touches with the artwork. Modern plug and usb sockets, very efficient heater. Big fridge with a microwave and simple coffee maker. Room felt safe, secure and insulated - couldn’t hear other guests
Great communication, front desk is staffed from 3-11pm but very communicative via...
Great location with lake view and restaurants within walking distance. The room was clean and organized with decent wifi speed good enough for streaming and zoom meetings. The staff was friendly and offered text messaging service. I booked it through Expedia for a reasonable price and I'm very satisfied overall. Definitely will book again if the price is similar to competitors.
The room was ok but the location is great. This was the view from outside our room.
The heater kicked on all night and was loud. the bed was quite firm.
Had a wonderful stay over and enjoyed the great view of the lake. The room was very clean and cozy. The complimentary breakfast was varied and filling. The employee who checked us in was friendly and answered all our questions and upgraded us to a room with a better view. Would definitely visit again. Our only complaint was that the coffee maker in the room was complicated to operate. Thanks for a...
Great place to stay for visits to Squaw and Alpine Meadows. Nice view of the lake and a covered parking area for when it snows (if there is open space). Whole coffee beans and coffee maker in the room. Breakfast starts at 7 am. There is a ski shop across the street that has quality rentals as well. Only complaint is the lack of quality wifi. I needed to do some work virtually but was unable due to...
We've stayed at the Pepper Tree several times. I wouldn't describe it as "fancy", but the rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the employees are hospitable. If your room is in the tower, you will have a GREAT view of the lake. In the tower or not, the hotel is in a wonderful location and is close walking distance to lots of fun things and places in downtown Tahoe City. We'll go back again...

Granlibakken Tahoe
Tahoe, 725 Granlibakken Road 🧭 Map
We arrived after 1 AM, and Steven was incredibly welcoming and helpful. He gave us insider tips about parking at Alpine and then carried cots and bedding across snowy terrain to our unit to make sure we were comfortable. We will definitely be back.
Overall, our two nights at the hotel were comfortable, but noise and service were the frustrating points. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable (one of the best I’ve had in a long time), but thin doors and long hallways (with lots of kids) lead to disruptive morning noise. Amenities were great, especially the large hot tub, pool and sauna. Location is convenient, but still requires a car...
We came at 3:00 a.m. due to a storm with no where to sleep and the nice lady at the reception gave us a room although they were closed. We will forever be grateful for her kindness.
Now the objective review is that the room was relatively small but it had great view, it was clean, warm while it was snowing outside, hot water and comfortable beds.
The breakfast was minimal but enough to make it to...
Especially in fall, this is a great stay. We had a townhouse - plenty of room, close to hiking, nature and the like, but shopping and restaurants near by as well. We also were there for a conference, and the staff really took care of everyone. Keep in mind - while there are lots of birds to watch, there is also larger wild life as well, especially bears, so be mindful.
We got a much needed recharge...
Was great, comfy bed, and lovely room. Nice old wooden style to the place. We weren't able to get connection with our cell phone but did not try the wifi service. Many things to take advantage of. Close to shops and the beach.
Great vegan options! Some rooms are ok, some are terrible. Individually owned condo-type units: not all owners care if their shower curtains are moldy. Fantastic property for winter & summer fun!

Americas Best Value Inn Tahoe City
Tahoe, 455 North Lake Boulevard 🧭 Map
My wife and I had a four night stay at America’s Best Value in Tahoe City and it was fantastic! The front desk staff was really friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and bright and the skiing was great. The front desk staff made recommendations for restaurants that were very helpful and it made the trip fun. The hotel is a little dated but it’s way cheaper than anywhere nearby with a lake view...
We had a great stay at America’s Best Value Inn. Just like the name it was a great value. And we had great service. We were greeted by Bernadette at the front desk with a smile. She was very welcoming, very friendly and made us feel right at home. She had great recommendations for restaurants nearby. Although the Inn does not have a slew of amenities the staff personality makes up for it!
I have been a flight attendant for Delta air lines for 32 years, basically means I have stayed in thousands of hotel rooms during my career.
There are places that clearly show the pride of manager and its owner, and this is one of them.
The resident manager Bruce, is very friendly and helpful, with a speedy check in.
We were told about the little breakfast they have, not much but we didn't expect...
Cathleen at the front desk was so very helpful, staying late to assure we were taken care of as we straggled in at 10:00 pm after a long day of driving. Best Value on the last minute booking, Best Service in friendliness and customer service and excellence in room cleanliness and accommodation. 5 Star all the way.
Incredible staff and location. However, it's not the nicest place on the planet. Basically u get what u pay for. It's a great place to crash when skiing and snowboarding but I wouldn't recommend it for long term.
Good for what it is - a cheap place to stay when you're in North Tahoe. Not many amenities but you're within walking distance of almost any business in Tahoe City so you don't need them.

The Inn at Boatworks, Lake Tahoe
Tahoe, 790 North Lake Boulevard 🧭 Map
Great cozy little place, I spend at least a week or more here a year, great for 1 or 2 people and would recommend for anyone on a budget.
Location is great. Next door to Safeway. Walking distance to most things. Room average. Musty. Shower in enormous heart shaped tub. Difficulty in climbing in. Had to ask for non slip mat. Staff friendly. Old shabby needs a facelift.
The room is comfortable and spacious. The bathroom is tiny but the shower works well. The WiFi is fairly bad, but I get 4G service here. The free breakfast and lobby are both very cheap-looking and are basically an afterthought. Parking is easy to find but there are no lines so it's a free-for-all. The real winner is the location. Walking distance to the beach, kayaking, several restaurants and cafes...

Nice motel. Good location, walkable to lake shore, restaurants and shops. Clean room with remodeled bathroom. Good breakfast! Nice staff!
Good location. Not a great motel but not bad either. Worked perfect on a Saturday night when we decided to stay a night in Tahoe City. Helpful staff. They have complimentary breakfasts but ONLY ON Weekend mornings- not everyday! We paid 200 plus dollars for a night but weekends are busy anyway, in this area.

Sunnyside Resort and Lodge
Tahoe, 1850 West Lake Boulevard 🧭 Map
We came for a dinner after skiing experience on Sunday evening. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy great views as it was dark outside. The menu isn’t huge but we waited a bit too long tbh. When the food arrived it was just okay. The burger (without bacon) was tasteless. The meat seemed fine but the whole thing wasn’t. Tacos are very good. Pulled pork was great as well. We drank our waters pretty fast...
The food was good, and the view was good, not to mention the design of the restaurant was good, with interior AND exterior design on the same level; the same boat, if you will; in fact, all aspects of the restaurant are on the same boat; and what is that boat, you might ask? Being amazing, extraordinary, astonishing, simply, flat-out, good. Would certainly come here again! I hope you guys become the...
Beautiful. On the water. Food, good. Service, exceptional! I noticed that they had staff walking around, quietly making themselves apparent, but not disturbing the table. Just walking, and looking, for any signs that you needed something. Note to self, these people are well trained. Next time, try and meet the person that trained the staff so well. Very well managed.
The staff are super nice and caring despite keeping up with traffic. The Lakeview is really awesome, was given an option to sit pretty close to the beach. The burgers were descent but, definitely worth the price for the seating options. My wife and I will definitely come back! Note: Highly recommend you make a reservation on their website.
Great food. Fantastic atmosphere. Arrived a bit before the restaurant was open. We were able to seat ourselves down by the bar area. Nice 3 person table right in front of the window. Awesome Caesar salad nice salmon bowl. We will be back!!
Fantastic location boutique hotel with excellent staff (thank you Courtney). Lake view rooms offer an incredible view of the lake. Rooms cleanly decorated and clean. Recommend for both snow and summer. We'll be back.

Cottage Inn At Lake Tahoe
Tahoe, 1690 West Lake Boulevard 🧭 Map
The hosts were very kind and willing to go the extra mile and gave plenty of accurate and thoughtful recommendations. Very charming setup, especially during the holiday season. Well insulated and heated cottages with ample of space, good beds, pillows and nice bathrooms. Very close to Lake Tahoe (walking distance).
Our stay was lovely. The Cottage Inn was so cozy, and whoever is cooking breakfast knows what they’re doing. It was delicious, we didn’t need to eat lunch. The rooms are comfortable and the everyone we met and who worked there was friendly and kind.
Very convenient location, warm and quiet room (no noise by air conditioning), excellent breakfast brought to the room by a friendly staff. Contactless check-in/out made it a very pleasant stay.
Such a beautiful gem minutes away from Tahoe City. I'd stay here again when I visit in the future. To think in the past I've driven by this place before is hard to believe. When you check a room out, your room key grants you access to Tahoe Park Beach. The deli counter at the Cozy Cottage Inn is open from 10am to 3 or 330 pm. I will have to get a custom sandwich next time. Rooms are between 390 to...
One of the best places to live at Lake Tahoe that provides a unique experience with the kindest staff.
Rooms are cozy, really pretty and have a cottage-like feel, perfect for a weekend getaway with your partner and/or friends. The Inn on the whole has a welcoming vibe and also provides access to a private beach which is beyond amazing.
We had the best time even though we only spent a night here!
We had such a great stay at the Cottage Inn, it’s worth sharing. The owner Kelly and the manger Austin went above and beyond to make are whole group more than happy! The cottages were great and the customer service was more than a 5 Star! They made you feel at home. Any concerns or special requests were addressed and taken care of immediately. The whole staff was top notch! I would not hesitate to...

Great spot ! The rooms were clean and perfectly set up for a comfortable stay. Loved being close to the lake and shops and restaurants in Tahoe City. The staff was very responsive and helpful. Will definitely stay here again in the future!
Cute and clean rooms for a decent price. We
booked a single room with a king bed for 3 nights and paid $650. The staff was nice and friendly and Commutative. We got there after 10 pm when their lobby was closed and their after hours check in process and instructions were easy. There was free parking available.
The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that they didn't offer any housekeeping during...
Basecamp was a great place to stay. Cozy and quiet rooms with a casual “fish camp” theme/decor. Great for families. I would suggest the carpet be replaced. Delicious mocha coffee was my go to treat each morning. Amazing location across the street from Safeway and CVS. Walking distance to all the town shops, restaurants and the lake. I would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our Basecamp experience! Our family stayed in the "Great Indoors", and the kids got a huge kick out of the pretend campsite and having their own bunk space. The hotel provided a space heater and we did need it to keep the kids room warm. Also bring slippers, the flooring is AstroTurf. We made heavy use of the fire pits for s'mores, and all of the staff were very friendly.
Very friendly and helpful staff (thanks Jenny for all the tips!), location was great to walk to some restaurants in Tahoe city and close driving distance to some wonderful beaches and hikes.
Basecamp Tahoe City is the perfect hotel for couples and families traveling to Tahoe during ski season. Quaint, clean rooms. A well stocked common area has the friendliest staff in Tahoe. Highly recommend!

Private lift to slopes as well as shuttle service to main ski area. 3 jacuzzis for muscle recovery. Great service and staff. Very family oriented
The spa and the bathrobes are great! Hot tub after ski is perfect and the service in the restaurants has been amazing. The mountains are amazing and there is plenty to do for large groups.
I visited in the summer, so the pool was perfect. Don't miss cocktails by the fire pits on a chilly night. And get to know the bartenders at Sandy's Pub- they're great!
Beautiful resort. We enjoyed ourselves here. Wish we spent a bit more time here. When I checked in and unlocked a special they had no clue about it and promised to get back to me. I'm still waiting.

rooms are very spacious and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. the clubhouse and deck are very fun to hang out at as well, cozy to sit at the fireplace and hang out in one of the 3 jacuzzis outside. free parking on the attached garage, very friendly and knowledgeable reception staff, squaw valley is very small, but offers great views and all of Lake Tahoes sights and things to do...
Amazing place. The staff was amazing and friendly. They offered different activities each day for the guest which made the stay fun. Rooms were beautiful and the view is to die for. We are looking forward in attending again sooner than later.
Great place to stay overnight. Conveniently located in palisades and has great covered parking. Room was clean and spacious and had a fully stocked kitchen. The clubhouse was very nice too with foosball table, sauna, kitchen, workout equipment, etc. will definitely return for another stay.
Used our timeshare through RCI to book a 2 bedroom. The unit is spacious and super clean. No dust anywhere.
The location is key. Across from Squaw Village (2 min walk) where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, a clinic, free shuttles to go to Squaw Creek and all the Ski lifts are located within 5min, walking.
They have a covered parking garage! No snow on car to deal with. Hot tub and club house...
This was a lovely hotel on the Palisades premises. The front desk personnel were very friendly and accommodating, the room itself was huge and very comfortable. It's just a short walk to all the restaurants and shops at the Palisades which is a great place to visit in any season. They let us use their bicycles gratis which we rode to Lake Tahoe completely on safe bike trails. The only complaints...
The lodge was very comfortable. We enjoyed going to the village even though it was off season. Took long walks on the bike paths near by. Relaxed in the spa. Took short drives to the lake. Saw the view from the top of the tram. It was so nice to relax and do what we wanted to do.

The Village at Palisades Tahoe
Olympic Valley, 1750 Village East Road 🧭 Map
Wonderful location the service was fine there was a gym lots to do wonderful big mountain skiing the atmosphere was top notch the spa was fun and I highly recommend. The room was also big and quite modern
It was a business trip like the last time we were there. Very comfortable accommodations and the scenery is spectacular. The front desk clerk was very friendly and happy to help.
Excellent views even in the off season (if you don't mind a little construction on the ski slopes) great staff and rooms. Only complaint would be the portable A/C's in the room didn't seem to really be up to the task of keeping such a well insulated building cool
Nice to be downtown and nice to be by the slopes. However the "suite" we stayed in was pretty lackluster. No HD TV, no central air and it was hot, the fireplace wouldn't turn off completely so hot air was constantly blowing, and the furniture was super old and beat up. Pretty surprised at the lack of upkeep ... especially at that price.
Really beautiful and nice place. Visited off season so it was a bit empty but there were friendly staff - also in the nearby Starbucks. The trip also included a little visit from a local bear :)
Great food at the restaurants that we've tried so far (Irish pub, pizza place, bakery). Good selection of restaurants and shops.

The room was very comfortable. the hotel was very dog friendly. A lovely restaurant inside with really good food, especially the pizza, and a great outside bar with 2 hot tubs and great cocktails. A very short walk to the lifts and a great ski clothing and rental shop right by the hotel.
Very convenient and very friendly and helpful staff. I think my only issues with the hotel were COVID related.
Great location and staff, clubby and fun restaurant/bar with GREAT food and an amazing Sommelier, walk to lifts and the village. Couldn't get better than this!
The staff is friendly, professional and very attentive! We give them five stars! The rooms however do not have working heaters or hot water at least for this stay. Our room is equipped with a baseboard heater. We were told it heats with water so takes a very long time. However, it never did heat up. Shower water was lukewarm and backed up so I was in standing water. The shower curtain does not cover...
We were at the Plumpjack for a wedding and it was such a great venue. The staff are so friendly and helpful and we also LOVED how dog friendly the hotel was. Excellent food too. We'll be back soon!
We only visited for dinner at the restaurant, since we were staying elsewhere. The menu and atmosphere was a delightful change from every place else in the village. I'm sure there's an interesting backstory to the inn's name, but it doesn't feel in sync with the sophisticated menu. We enjoyed Caesar salad with delicate anchovies, butternut soup that was thankfully more savory than sweet, a perfect...

The Lodge is a wonderful resort. It's located just a block from the Village at Squaw Valley and adjacent to the aerial tram. It has it's own parking garage and great outdoor pool for summer guests. The staff is very helpful and can answer all your questions about things to see and do in the area. The rooms are fantastic! See photos.
The staff here is very friendly and went the extra mile to make my stay pleasant. Special thanks to Luke and Shellie, they both were especially helpful. Always love staying in a place that's sharin' in the groove!
Great place to stay. Stay here many times and enjoy it. But this time was no house keeping and lot's of construction noise .
Any way we love this place.
I love staying at the Squaw Valley Lodge. Friendly staff. Best location in Olympic Valley. In winter, you can ski in and out of the building. In the summer, there is hiking right outside. The remodeled lobby looks very nice. Huge, fun pool outside too.
We stayed here for 4-nights. The room (deluxe studio) was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The location to the slopes and village is unbeatable. Pool and hot tubs were good too.
Amazing location, ski lifts right outside. Loved the apartment we stayed in, plenty of space. Freezing pool with about five hottubs both inside and out.

The history surrounding this resort was charming. Our lodging was very comfortable and clean. We loved the snowshoeing tour and all the events put on daily by the staff. The stay at Olympic Village Inn was excellent. Never staying at a ski resort type abode, the Inn was close in proximity and it was even part of the Palisades network of stays. The experience and closeness to the ski resort was awesome, even the shuttle to take you to the ski resort was every 15 minutes. The amount of shops and food availability to the Inn was a short 15 minute walk. I suggest dress...
Very friendly staff and extremely helpful. We decided to extend our stay because a storm and the staff was able to accommodate us by moving other bookings around so that we didn't need to switch rooms. I stayed here in late September for a weekend trip to Tahoe and it far exceeded my expectations.
