I visited this hotel on a halfboard basis as part of a cycling tour operated by Penguin Travel. Unfortunately we arrived late to the hotel so I didn't have time to experience the spa facilities. Our room was spacious and the view of the opposite neighbourhood and the mountains was spectacular, especially when snowy. The lobby was nicely decorated. Nevertheless, it is a refurbished old hotel in late-80s socialist style. That means no luxury should be expected and the SPA centre, the rooms and the indoor restaurant looks passable but not great.

Do not be fooled by the outside looks. The Inside is absolutely amazing. The location of the outdoor poor is perfect! The sauna, steam bath and all facilities are impeccable. Good place to relax and enjoy your time off. Usually crowded, but there is room for everyone. The one big disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning in that facility. BH Velingrad is a very peaceful and romantic place. The staff is very friendly and smiling. The rooms are terribly small, those facing the Balkans. The procedures are very messy and you have to keep track of the hours every day, and when you have a bath and then other procedures, it's a lot of running.

The service in the restaurant could be better, but overall not that bad. The hotel has aqua park for the kids and pools and spa area perfect for adults. Scenic view and great for chilling.

Perfect place to relax. Not too expensive and surprisingly quiet even with kids around. Nice view and clean water at the pools. You will definitely get served well at the bar and the restaurant. Nice apartment in the hotel! The SPA is great with excellent massage service!

It is a decent hotel, not very luxurious but it is ok. The surrounding area is peaceful and many rooms have a mountain view. The renovated rooms (deluxe) are definitely a better choice than the standard ones. There is a spa center with sauna, steam bath and a few swimming pools, also 2 fitness rooms. Even though the hotel was fully booked the stay here was quite enjoyable.
