Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Calgary Airport East

DO NOT STAY HERE esp if u have pets! So many problems in just a 1 night stay! We booked here bc 1) it has shuttle to and from the airport 2) its pet friendly and we had our dog. 3) included breakfast. ALL 3 THINGS HUGE PROBLEMS. 1 ) I called as we walked to baggage to ask how the shuttle works- they said they leave by 20 after each hour. I said we would get the next one. They told me to call back when we had all our bags and they would just send it when we were ready. Then proceeded to not answer the phone for close to 30 mins! By the time the shuttle actually got there it was almost a 1 hr wait! We get checked in fine- nice room nice inside. My husband takes the kids to the pool which again is nice. I take our dog for a walk. No close parks but there is a bit of grass here and there. BUT THEY HAVE LIVE GOPHER TRAPS WITH POISON ALL OVER THE PROPERTY. Where do they expect their guests with pets to go and safely let them to go to the bathroom. There was garbage everywhere outside too! Not safe at all! 3) on their website it says breakfast is included. We get to the breakfast room and the attendant told us to check to see if it's included and ours was not. Then they wanted to charge us $60 for our breakfast that was supposed to be free! In the end they did give us vouchers. All we wanted was a place to have a 14 hr layover sleep and get our next flight. Nothing but problems at every turn! DO NOT STAY HERE!

First when we walked in a very strong smell of curry filled the air that stuck to our clothes and hair-making us smell like curry.

The first room we walked into was not clean at all!! The shower wasn’t clean, mirrors dirty, the pillows on bed were stained and dirty.

The second room was adequately cleaned but still not 100% clean. The shower walls had only been washed half way up, the cups in coffee station dirty, counters dirty. We ended up cleaning it ourselves so we could stay for the 1 night.

When I called to customer services upon arrival, once checked in (twice) both times there was no greeting just put directly on hold…waited for 10mins without any answer. Went downstairs to the front desk people visiting, not dealing with customers.

The value of the hotel would be fine if under $100 but not more. The pictures are deceiving. The decor and space looks nice at first glance, but not clean. I’ve worked in hotels before and definitely not up to my standards of cleanliness. As well the location was a bit off the high way in a industrial area which we thought it was closer to the highway as we aren’t familiar with Calgary area.
