Days Inn by Wyndham Ottawa Airport

Not the best experience. I chose this hotel mainly for the pool and free breakfast only to find out after check in the pool is closed and it’s limited breakfast. Got to the room and went to move the couch over to see the tv better and underneath was disgusting. There was food and crumbs like it’s never been cleaned. Later on I went to use one of the towels and noticed yellow staining on it so I decided to check the rest of them and noticed stains on one of the washcloths as well. The breakfast area had very little space to walk around. There’s just enough room for one person at a time. Overall upsetting experience. Will stay somewhere else next time

Room was found to be dirty - fries/rice/veggy from previous guest were still there along with a shawarma receipt. Mentioned to front desk but they were not able to action or do anything about it the night of.

Brought up with my travel agency to contact them and hopefully resolve dispute. The front desk mentioned something else to them, saying they offered a room change (they DID NOT.)
They also said they told me housekeeping comes in the morning... they did not. even if so, you want your guest to sleep in a room with filth on the floor?

That being said the mattress did not show any signs of bed bugs, but it still brings up concern of facility being maintained and cleaned. Not sure if housekeeping is being overloaded but the way the front desk handled it wasn't exactly great.
Ended up booking a stay at another hotel the same evening.

I would not recommend to stay here.

Sometimes the best efforts of managers and business owners can be overshadowed by the nasty attitude of an employee entrusted with working with a client. And this is exactly what happened to me at the hotel reception today.
First of all, I made a mistake when booking two rooms and specified 3 guests instead of 2 in one of the rooms. Attempts to change the reservation on booking were unsuccessful, booking support did not respond to my letter, so I had to ask the employee at the reception for changes. She flatly refused, said to decide with a third party - booking, and she cannot and will not change anything.
The next surprise was customer identification. The employee refused to accept the driver's license, arguing that it was not a Canadian license. It was lucky that I had my passport with me, but the license is the identity card of the whole world. Just not in the world of this worker.
Then there was the question of payment. Ok, the hotel does not accept cash, you have been warned. But why can't you pay apple pay using your phone? Why does humanity invent benefits if they crash on some inadequate lady who trusts only the card in her hand to be rubbed against her terminal?
And all this was accompanied by caustic intonation and rudeness.
The funniest thing is that she withdrew the payment twice. And one of them still hasn't returned. If he does not return by morning, I will call the administration.
If you want to lose customers, hire this lady.

For the price of the rooms, I'd at least expect something other than sleeping on a direct box spring. Have these people ever even heard of a bed? Hard and stiff on the back. Front desk people could also use some more hospitality (you are in the hospitality business after all), but I guess if I worked for a place that doesn't really care about how comfortable you are and over charges, I'd probably be miserable too. The only positive thing this place has going for it is cleanliness. Some reviews say the food is alright. For what they charge, it could be a lot better.
