I stayed at Maximilians Hotel in Augsburg from 19 July – 05 August 2025 with my two young children. Unfortunately, the experience was far below what I expected from a five-star property.
• The curtains were transparent, making it impossible for my kids (who go to bed at 7 pm) and myself to sleep properly. We were waking up every day at 5 am due to light exposure.
• Despite repeated requests for blackout curtains or even double layers, nothing was done.
• Out of desperation, I had to cover the windows myself, which left us living in a dark room without daylight or view for over two weeks.
• After checkout, I was shocked to discover an €850 charge applied to my credit card without advance notice, which I am disputing.
• Adding to the disappointment, this stay coincided with my 40th birthday, a milestone I had hoped to celebrate in comfort. Instead, it became a source of stress and frustration.
I have stayed at this hotel for three years in a row, but this experience was extremely disappointing and showed no loyalty to returning guests. I sincerely hope management reconsiders how they treat families and loyal customers in the future.

this is a fivestar superior hotel very excited to go there. The receptions were very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working in my room 158. I went downstairs. It was 7 PM at night. She took me around to a few other rooms, which were all very warm and then I saw other fans outside the doors obviously that first floor does not work well after an unpleasant night sleep, I went down and told him I had to be moved to a room that Air conditioning worked. They put me in another room on the third floor 303. It was cooler, but it never went down to 16 Celsius as it says on the thermostat, there’s obviously something wrong with the air conditioning. The breakfast was very good although I did ask the last day for crêpes and he said he didn’t have any that day. thought you’re supposed to make what the client asked for, but I guess I’m wrong !!! it was a good location. Perfect for my needs Restaurents all around even service for buses. If you need them, I would say this is a highly recommended hotel just make sure the air conditioning works as it states that it does

This is an excellent hotel, with welcoming and helpful staff. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. We had a two night stay at this hotel as part of a family of four. Excellent breakfast choices as well.

THEY STEAL BAGS
Their staff lost / stole my luggage from the lobby and they refuse to coperate or disclose who took the bag. They also tried to blame me saying a friend took it but they give no name, number or cctv footage which is probably indicative of a staff member stealing it and they are covering for it. Either way, the bag was under their care and their responsibility to ensure the correct person took it.
Stay Away.

Stayed for only one night: Expensive charging, no restaurant Sunday, no answering of telephone reception/room service, bar brought wrong drinks and never asked for a second

Excellent. Clean. Excellent overnight conditions. Powerful beds. Mattresses with mattress pads. Snow-white bed linen made of good fabric. New plumbing. Comfortable shower. Pleasant and easy-to-rinse chemicals. High-quality accessories. Fresh smell both in the halls and in the rooms. Excellent breakfast. Many types of cheese and sausage. Can be cooked to order. Lots of sauces. Fruit. Wine. Desserts. And many interesting morning trifles. The interior in the halls and floors is well thought out and close to home. There is a bar. The staff is not intrusive. The design is lightning fast and friendly. My personal rating based on studying more than 350 hotels is hotel #2. After one of the Dresden hotels. Many 5-star hotels do not reach the level of thoughtfulness of this one. At two o'clock in the morning I wanted an apple. They brought it to me. They did not take money. There was no room in the bar, so they brought everything to the library.

Excellent hotel, great breakfast. Clean room. Highly recommend. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey. But the best hotel in Augsburg, in the very center of the city, worth it.

This hotel is awesome!! Old world service with new world amenities. You definitely get a good value for the price. Incredible location with great access to shopping and restaurants as well as a great breakfast. 10/10 recommend in you’re in Augsburg!

Fantastic location right in the middle of the Main Street but not noisy at all. Beautiful lobby, excellent reception staff, and comfortable, clean rooms. This was a great stay - so many restaurants nearby, lots of shopping opportunities, as well as close to the tourist information office that gives an excellent English tour.
