Stayed here for 2 days on business. Got a good corporate rate and was upgraded. Rooms are decent sized but a bit sparse in furnishing. A solid "4 star" hotel in quality. The quality of room construction, like all hotels of this era is a bit "plastic", but that is not the fault of the hotel
Good points: room was clean, staff was very friendly. I found the breakfast to be FANTASTIC and on par with many 5 star hotels: custom-cooked egg station, plenty of juice and pastry options. Really good sausages (this is Germany, after all). Very attentive staff. Room and hotel is good value for money; i don't think you can go too far wrong. I liked the fact you could buy beer and snacks in the lobby to take up to your room. Pretty central location: The old city/Marienplatz is 15 minute easy walk. Very close to U and S bahns, so an easy ride to tourist spots and the airport.
Not so good points: Location is close to main train station which means there is little street "charm" in the direct vicinity of the hotel. Area is under construction and may get better by the time you read this. Rooms are a bit sparse and you don't feel the urge to luxuriate in your room.

Great value for the money with respect to location, facilities such as the sauna, pool, and gym. The restaurants were very good, and the staff was friendly. The decor seems a little dated in the halls and rooms. Otherwise, we had everything we needed and they accommodated an early check-in.

Just stayed here with my son durring Oktoberfest. How you dont give this Hotel 5 stars is beyond me. From the moment we arrived early, very early they escorted us to the Spa so we can use the lockers and change. They supplied us exceptional services thru our 3 days there. Fresh coffee when the restaurant was closed what ever we required Umbrellas, directions, advice. The front desk check in was friendly and professional. The rooms were large clean and comfortable. Location near the station was perfect to explore the whole city. All employees were phenomenal. Will be back..

I have stayed here 3 times in 2 months. Not days, but 3 different stays. So obviously I like it. I guess for Germany it's a nice hotel room. In America it would be considered basic. I have stayed in other hotels in Germany, and it is far more spacious than the competition. The property is nice, and I enjoy the courtyard. The front desk staff is ALWAYS awesome, first class, helpful, and professional. Seriously, they are strong! The people that work breakfast are not. They are terrible and seem annoyed that not only are you there, but that you exist. That's why service is 4 star not 5. In each stay the breakfast staff sucks. Rude and irritable. Plus the breakfast is a buffet and kind of sucks. The orange juice must be from a box too by the way. It's undrinkable. The bar staff is awesome. Very cool, and professional. I like them, and the bar is nice, and it's not ridiculous hotel bar prices. The location is perfect. No question. I'm Bonvoy Ambassador level, and have a lot of stays. I develop preference for properties in each city, and this is probably my preference. I really like some other ones here, but the ease of check in, the courtyard, and location put this ahead.

The hotel is very conveniently located near the train station, making it not only ideal for arrivals and departures but also a great base for getting around the city with ease. Public transport access was simple and efficient from this location.

Check-in was quick and smooth, with pleasant and helpful staff who made us feel welcome. The hotel itself was clean and well-presented, and our room — along with the bathroom — was a good size and very comfortable.

We also made use of the pool, which was a nice bonus, though the water was a bit colder than expected.

Overall, a clean, comfortable hotel with friendly service and an excellent location for both travel and exploring the city.

This definitely does not feel like a 5 star hotel at all and I would not recommend it. The room was spacious but no division so all sleeping in a big space. When we arrive the pull out bed looked broken and we had to attempt to fix it ourselves. There are no channels in English, no way to watch movies- which seems ridiculous for a 5 star international hotel chain. The sound proofing isn’t great and you can hear people walking and talking in the hallway. The balcony door does not open due to a chain. Our shower overflowed after a few minutes use because it didn’t drain properly. Our room was not cleaned adequately (there was old food under the rug and on two days our old glasses weren’t removed and rubbish not emptied). House keeping also knocked over a decoration we bought and broke it, but no one said anything about it. 1 or 2 of the elevators weren’t working and it’s quite busy, the lobby is always full. The pool closed at 3pm on Christmas Eve (which we weren’t told about), so there is nothing to do (due to no TV in English and nothing open in town). Check in staff were lovely. It is a great location- but the Sofitel is right next door and I’d go for that next time. This is expensive for what it offers- we were very disappointed.
