Rating only refers to the cafe and the ambience. Just wanted to have a quick coffee after a walk through the village and stopped by the Hotel Cafe Restaurant Zum Kranz. Ambience takes a bit of getting used to. It felt like time had stopped there. Coffee was good and the price was okay too.

I was here two times. The food so far is very good and would come again to try 'fish' dishes.

We were in this year 2015, for the 3. Changes in the Klösterle Hof and are always delighted by the warm welcome, the excellent menu and attentive Service. Klösterle Hof is a gem in this beautiful part of the black forest, and can all be recommended only in search of rest and hikes also a culinary Highlight.

Very good and quiet hotel, in house food is lovely and the owner personally assists with any requests.

2 stars less because the Staff doesn't speak English, the dinner was cheap but very good... No network for me, but there was Wlan at the reception and at the restaurant The family room was a quite old and the bathroom too... But for the price it's and very good step hôtel

Situated out of town this is a cheap and cheerful little german hotel. The staff were lovely. They spoke little english but you know what, You're in Germany, get over it and around it. Some might say it needs updating , but i think the 70s look was actually lush. It was super clean and tidy and well appointed rooms. The food was really good and our waiter was amazing. Attentive, kept a careful eye...

Nice, clean and affordable hotel specially if you get an offer of 2 rooms together. However, WiFi was only available in the reception not inside rooms. It is nice if somebody wants to stay in the middle of the black forest away from noisy cities but it can also feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. However, the nearest town Freudenstadt is not too far.

Hotel is nice, everything is clean, beds are decent. Staff is polite although they don't speak English. Breakfast is good but without many options. Food is good.

Very nice and personable hosts. Our room was super clean and that goes for the entire house. Our palates were delighted with the meal and the house dessert was a stunner. The breakfast was also plentiful and after this we were driven to our station to continue walking along the Westweg. Overall a very successful stay :) Thank you very much!

My family and I are returning after Christmas with the family Schmelzle. I opted for the venison medallions with homemade dumplings and cranberries. Absolutely excellent, authentic, and traditional black forest cuisine. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. Highly recommended.

We arrived late in the evening, and were welcomed with a lovely hand written letter explaining where our room is and inviting us to breakfast the next morning. Amazing location on the crossroads of multiple walking paths, and quality service. Overall good experience.

We checked in today and so far we absolutely love it, the food from the restaurant is delicious and prepared with love. We are staying in the apartment and its absolutely perfect for my husband and myself and fits our two large dogs easily.

The hosts are warm and welcoming and take great care with their menu; the elegant way they present and serve their meals really had us mindfully savouring each bite! The reviews and the website promised a little too much. But okay for the price. The facility no longer meets the current standards. The staff all made up for this with their friendliness.

Nestled away from all traffic and surrounded by forest, adorned with a beautiful wooded park that can be enjoyed as well as the 1500m2 of SPA and swimming pool area. A family welcome in all the nobility of the term and a cuisine that is well worth French tables. Amply justified value for money. A great discovery that I recommend.

Excellent Hotel with super rooms, very nice and pleasant Spa area, really friendly staff and children are welcome and can belong after 2 days, almost to the family. Also a great location to the ski lift Kniebis ( about 150m). And the food was really a dream. Since we would like to go again.

We ate at the Kaminstube. The service was excellent. The price for a menu like that is really good. The food was great, we enjoyed every course. It was more than enough. The interior is noble but cozy. We will definitely come back.

Quite and peaceful location. Our room overlooking the lake was excellent.

Staff very friendly. The room Size was found in order, only the bed I as too small. The balcony was three rooms are accessible without separation. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately, it was awakened by reconstruction measures, at 7.30 am.

We spent 3 wonderful days, the hotel, the restaurant, the spa, the staff, the owners are all at your service. C' was 3 days in paradise. We can only advise this place and enjoy the well being which you invaded. We we will return.

Was driving through the Black Forest when I saw this lodge on the side of the road, just what I was looking for. It turned out to be the best decision I made the whole trip. Great atmosphere, even better food. A 5-star resort tucked away in the hills, a true diamond in the rough.

Tranquility in the midst of the forest and next to a sizable natural pond with swans. Perfect for nature lover and a relaxing stay or to explore the surroundings. Restaurant is great, very nice service and very good food. I had a pleasant stay with my family and ended up extending our stay.

Best place for dinner in southwest Germany. The regional food is exceptionally good and tasty. I haven't been to a better place for this kind of typical regional and unpretentious food. I don't know about the Hotel but the views on the little lake and the setting seems quite idyllic and typical for the National Park of the Black Forest.

The hotel stay was very pleasant. Has it is located in a quiet and secluded area with a small stream. The rooms are comfortably furnished. Tv dvd player kettle coffee machine. I received a friendly welcome from the boss and every one of my wishes was fulfilled. A big compliment to the management.

We were here on New Year's Eve. The reception was very nice and our room was shown to us and everything explained. The Hotel Chef fits into the world and tries very hard to make your stay a pleasant one. We would be happy to come back to the clean hotel with great breakfast. Keep up the good work! Great !

A nice little hotel in vintage style. The rooms have everything you need. Some with balcony. The owner has recently taken over the hotel and is very concerned about his guests and tries to fulfill every wish. There is a small elevator so that people with disabilities can reach the upper floors. The breakfast buffet is well stocked and sufficient. Eggs are fresh, so they are still hot at the table....

The staff was very kind and attentive. I've had a very pleasant stay in my cosy, clean hotel room. The breakfast was delicious as well as the dinner! There are plenty of hiking trails nearby, you can also take a walk around in Bad Peterstal Griesbach. You won't regret it! I am looking for to my next visit!

This has been the best experience we had! Finally a hotel, manager and staff that takes 100% care of their guests, especially of those with special needs. Our son has to follow a strict diet both on timing of meals and ingredients. Everything has been put to work to serve him correct... The property managers/ owners were pretty flexible and arranged an alternative space for us. The rooms were also pretty well maintained. The location is also pretty great.

We spent a wonderful and relaxing weekend in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach. The accommodation is located in the middle of the small town on a slope and the view over the village is really worth seeing. The room with double bed that we moved into was newly renovated and very nicely furnished. This is exactly the right address for a stay in the Black Forest.

Great stay at Steepleview House. I had the small apartment and clean, well equipped, and bigger than I expected. The Geilers were very welcoming and helped arrange everything, including helping me figure out trains that were canceled and changed. We had a nice and large apartment. The Ehrenmättlehof is located above the street and is quiet. Beautiful hikes in this wonderful area are possible directly behind the house. We would like to highlight the friendly and cordial staff. We felt very comfortable and can only recommend the Ehrenmättlehof.

Great view and atmosphere, hearing only the sound of the water flowing beneath. The apartment was fully equipped for us (2 adults and 3 kids) and was very comfortable.

Although located outside of the town, it is a pretty walkable distance to the town centre (Less than 20 mins depending on how fast you walk) but do note that it's not flat. Hotel Teuchelwald is a wonderful place to stay. It is built on a Hill with greeny Parks and flowers. It has a hot swimming pool. An excellent Kirchen and bar with the best rooms. Perfect place to stay in Freudenstadt.

The hotel is great. A short walk takes you into the forests. The recent refurbish is tip top. The dining area is very nice. Breakfast hit the mark, every morning. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. Evening meals where also very nice. Pool is great for children and the SPA area was very relaxing. We have been here now five times. That must say something. 9/10

Significant money has been spent recently on this place. The dining area is absolutely gorgeous with no expense spared and the breakfast was lovely. The rooms have been tastefully updated to high quality standards and it's a very peaceful setting at night. It's only a 3 or 4 minute drive into the center of town

2 years old in a converted council tower block this is from first appearances turn up and drive away quicker than you arrived, but it was late in the day. This is truly a memorable hotel. funky decor in reception and rooms. massive comfy beds and a whopper of a TV very cool atmospheric lighting free movies and free fridge. no kettle so lucky we had our travelling one and tea bags. free pool tables...

Nice place for a few nights. Varied continental breakfast. I personally found the bed too hard and the room was facing the main street so it was noisy. Room was very clean and smelt good. The shower screen door was broken but a very clean bathroom. Nice staff. Good central location

Can't beat the location. Room wasn't cleaned when we walked in our room. After one hour it was ok. Breakfast ok, Coffee quality left for much improvement.
