Reviews
Now on to the hotel itself. The rooms have different motives, we stayed in the Marilyn Monroe room. The room was okay but nothing special. In general the hotel felt quite old and the style was…questionable. Very colourful and not stylish.
The wellness facilities seem good enough. We only tried the basement pool and sauna. Sauna was good.
Breakfast was okay but no hot food except for cooked eggs and scrambled eggs on demand.
We also had dinner here. At checkin we were handed a piece of paper on which we should mark our wishes for dinner. When I asked if it was included in the price the receptionist replied it was so we went on and chose dinner. At checkout I was asked to pay for dinner which was quite confusing. The receptionist at checkout - which was another one - said it was not included. After some minor discussions we could leave and the dinner fee was waved.
Quite confusing to be honest.
All in all an okayish stay. I would say there are better options in the area though.
The entire hotel could use a makeover.
It's a small hotel right next to the spa park, so if you don't like it so busy, you're in good hands there. We will repeat it again.
Massages & Co:
In the large wellness package, the massages last around 20 minutes. We try to use some things one after the other so that the different treatments are not broken up into different parts of the day. While you are being massaged, you lie on the magnetic field mat. Potential contraindications were queried beforehand. I thought that was good.
The massages could have been a little firmer, but they were still quite good.
The tub for the milk bath has beautiful lights and you are left alone in a separate room so you can relax. The facial treatment is done in great detail with various creams and masks and is very beneficial.
The swimming pool is rather small (about 8 swims to the edge opposite), but cutely designed. I particularly liked the star lights on the ceiling.
In the sauna area there are two normal sauna rooms (approx. for a maximum of 3-4 people / but then it gets tight) and a small infrared cabin.
The relaxation rooms inside are also beautifully designed. Here and there the decoration is a little 'special', but that's okay. ;-)
I especially liked the heated loungers. There is also a hanging lounger outside, which is very comfortable. The outside area is more of a separate small terrace.
The wellness area is on the whole rather small, but I was there alone at times, so it was really comfortable. (within this week)
In general, the hotel is more of a large residential building on a street with other houses/small hotels.
Unfortunately, my room was very small and the bathroom was rather narrow. The decoration could also use a new refresh ;-)
The staff was super friendly and helpful and they helped you with all your concerns easily.
Eat:
The breakfast buffet is great! Great selection and especially the 'toppings' were great. (E.g. linseed or dried bananas)
The vegetarian dinner wasn't that special, but it was tasty.
There was a basket with delicious fruit in the room. (Pear, apple l, grapes l, tangerine, banana) And a bottle of mineral water.
The WiFi worked without any problems and so did the television.
In the room there is a wellness bag with slippers, bathrobe and a towel.
Spa park:
The spa park is about 1 minute away from the hotel. You get a spa card and can take advantage of free offers such as yoga or health lectures.
There are many rehabilitation clinics bordering the park itself and the average age is more like 50+.
The staff is just nice. Every wish will be fulfilled. The food was very good.
We will be back definitely.
Thank you, we had a really nice weekend in this house.
We were very pleasantly surprised by our room. They were separate rooms. So living and sleeping areas are separated. There was also a nice bathroom with a window. So we were both able to recover very well.
The food was very good and it was tasty every day. We also found the breakfast adequate. There was something for everyone. Many thanks also to the entire team. This was always friendly and helpful. A good service. ‼️
We can recommend the hotel with a clear conscience.
Thanks again for the nice days.👍😃
Check in is until 8 p.m., we were called at 5:30 p.m. to see if we were still coming. When we arrived we were briefly greeted with a voucher for two prescribed treatments where we would have to pay the rest of the amount. When we got to our room we were struck by the fact that it was "kiss dark & white" with red heart-glass tables, a red leather couch and a suitably large picture with red lips. Actually, the only thing missing was the ropes on the wall.
For a "normal" hotel or, as in this case, a wellness hotel, it's outrageously embarrassing.
We continued to the beds where you were not allowed to turn or move as they were only pushed together and placed in front of a black back wall, otherwise you would end up on the floor.
We were then called again in the early evening with the sentence: Hello Mr.... where are you, you have an appointment for the application, which clearly showed us that we could hardly be outdone in terms of audacity, since we didn't book one or use the voucher had agreed.
The breakfast buffet was good, there was plenty of it and it was nicely presented as a buffet. The dining room was colorful and table to table...very bad.
We didn't feel welcome at all.
Very impolite.
The surroundings are beautiful and the bördertherme can be highly recommended.
Otherwise.....Never again!!!!
Reception: directly at the entrance between the hallway and the door. Guests gather and stuff everything. A little uncomfortable.
Breakfast: definitely better at any good rest stop. We had baked rolls from the day before, so I switched to bread slices. Cold cuts were varied but not the best. Coffee was delicious.
Restaurant: We didn't visit after we had the rooms or such a breakfast. The prices were also “restaurantish”
Wellness: phew, take a deep breath...after navigating a labyrinth of hallways and countless doors, a paddling pool. According to their description, it has absolutely nothing to do with “swimming pools”. The room was pleasantly warm but the water was so cold that a thin layer of ice almost formed. One (in numbers 1) shower FOR THE ENTIRE HOTEL!!! We were amazed for a wellness hotel. There are two saunas (one was out, with a key box), one worked and there was an infrared blah blah which, according to the functions, was in operation. The radio was playing in the relaxation room, with changing songs that represented exactly the opposite of relaxation. That’s it ;(
WiFi/parking: both free but to get to the parking lot you have to know the dimensions of the vehicle, pretty tight.
Room: we were first given a themed room that was supposed to represent the 70s, large but very cold and uncomfortable. I asked if we could get a more comfortable room. After a lot of back and forth, we got the room “Villa Kunterbunt”.
Much smaller but...well, slightly better. Both rooms had an uncomfortable two-seater couch that you could barely both sit on. Walls were stained and dirty or there was a crack running along the wall. Bathroom like a hospital and there was a bunch of hair stuck to the wall of the shower stall. There was no minibar, smoke detector or telephone. But in the closet there was a basket with a bathrobe, towel and slippers.
The bottle of champagne promised by the hotel wasn't in the room, so I went down two floors to ask. To our surprise, we received a piccolo sparkling wine “bottle”. So audacity continues, we thought.
Conclusion: Staff was nice and that was it. Never again, not even as a gift or voucher. We spent over 2 hours on the road trying to switch off, but instead we were frustrated and a few hundred euros lighter.
