Conveniently located next to Bochum's train station, the hotel offers nice rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. Food is very good. Breakfast is excellent. You can use the hotel parking for 23€ or use the near by underground city garage at a 1.6€ an hour or 14€ a day. There are a lot of bars and restaurants within 5 minutes by foot. Highly recommended if you need to stay in the area.

Big rooms, generous breakfast, friendly staff. Ok, it's just a chain hotel, but with its budget prices you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Nice rooms and friendly staff. If you stay longer than two days, you have to ask for cleaning, if you want it every day. The restaurant has a nice furnishing and an attentive staff (when it is not a soccer game on television) but the food is poor.

Very convenient location near Bochum central station. The hotel is average. The rooms should be remodeled, especially the bathrooms, the tubs are very high and dangerous.

Nice and modern hotel, well located and with private, secure parking. The staff is really kind and enthusiastic. The food was delicious throughout our entire stay; breakfast, business lunch, coffee breaks and dinner. The rooms are nicely renovated and are well equipped.

4 star? Well, I think someone was playing a bit fast and loose with giving out stars! In my view, a 3 star would be a more accurate reflection:
No room safe, No fridge/minibar, No drawers (just shelves), No room service menu or hotel guide, No bellboy, No signage of how to pull up in front of the hotel, a bar that doesn't open until 16:30, so no lunchtime drink and an bathroom that could do with modernisation, i.e., without the rust and a heated towel rail that actually works.
More positively, the breakfast was excellent and the person who cleaned our room is a star - the cleaning was excellent. It is well located for the centre of Bochum, but it could be so much more!
Okay as a business hotel and simply adequate as a leisure hotel.

Nice hotel with good Mercure quality standard. Absolutly nice staff, parking accessible from hotel lift, noting to complain.
BUT, the bar service is extremaly slow. The girl works hard, but she is not able to organise her work well. While she is making one beer, she does not need to wait until the hat goes down, she can leave it and do something else, I suppose.
Or she need an assistant, whent the bar is full of people.

Internet speed was woefully slow. Could barely check email or load Facebook.
No iron provided in the room. Had to be placed on a 'waiting list' for an iron, only to finally get one on the final night of our stay - when we didn't need it anymore. What kind of hotel has limited irons?!
Finally, the air conditioning in our room (1114) didn't work. At the highest fan speed and coldest temperature (5 degrees) my themometer showed 26 degrees and it was very stuffy in the room. We had to open a window to get anywhere near comfortable. Complained at front desk and told it would be fixed, only to find nothing changed when we returned that evening.
Overall a very poor experience. We've stayed in cheap Air BNB rooms during our 5 week trip in Europe that have provided better facilities than this. Given we stay in Mecure Hotels around the world all the time, your hotel was woefully short on standard.
We won't be recommending your hotel to our friends and family who will be visiting the area in the future.
