The hotel is located far from public transportation, about 20 minutes walk, you can order a taxi. The rooms are large but do not have a refrigerator or an electric kettle. Room is very simple, but clean. Beds are comfortable. When showering everything gets wet because the glass screen is only about 40cm. Furthermore, you have no tea or coffee facilities. Parking is easy near the hotel. Westfield mall is within walking distance.

I ordered this place because of cheapest price. The hotel room itself is good and service was perfect. But the shower was bad at least in my room - water cold almost all the time. Internet extremely fast and I was able to watch a YouTube video without problems. Will not come again because of cold water in the shower.

I cannot fault this hotel. Everything was superb. We arrived from the overnight ferry to Hook of Holland. This place was perfectly positioned a couple of hours from the port for an overnight stay before exploring Germany. The car park was spotless. For the price - that's what you can expect I guess. It's by far most of the times the cheapest option to stay in Essen - yet the rooms are clean, all good. No personal actually on site - it's all done online, check-in, complaints management etc. The area where the hotel is located is a bit scary - but if you don't want to go out and just use the room to sleep, it's good value for price.

I stayed in this place many times, the room is ok has everything what you need, the only complaint is the sink was blocked in the bathroom, that’s happened before with bathroom shower as well . For the price the room delivers what I expected. The room is spacious, modern and clean. The bed is sturdy. The room has also enough power stations to charge.I love the free parking space and the location. The only critic is learning how to open the door using the code. I’ll definitely be back if I visit Essen in the future.

Went for the GAME days in Essen with a buddy and the hotel was great for our purposes. Beds were comfortable, although the room, which we had, was not huge ... for our purposes but completely sufficient :) A super nice team (especially the owner) and also the breakfast was good. Conveniently located a few minutes from the U-Bahn, looks over a pretty square, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. Staff was very friendly and spoke English quite well. The continental breakfast isn't what you'd be used to in the USA, but it was still good. The only inconvenience was they provided only one room card instead of two. Not sure if this is normal, but all Holiday Inns I've stayed...

Excellent and friendly staff. The rooms and beds were nice, but the bathrooms need renovation, and the sound insulation between rooms and hallways was not so good. The room keys wouldn't stay programmed for more than 15 minutes, so I had to visit the lobby nearly every time I went back to my room.

Friendly staff. Rooms are fine for the express brand. We slept 3 easily with the sofa bed. Breakfast is typically German (no complaints), but if you're expecting scrambled eggs and such then you'll be disappointed. Parking, if you have to use the attached parking garage. Good for travellers who do not need to be in the direct center of town. Free parking was good and never full. VERY close to supermarket, McDonalds and tram stop. Extremely slow elevator, otherwise very good value for money and quiet hotel. Very nice bathroom and balcony.

A really nice hotel three tram stops away from the Essen Main Station. This is a, what I would call, self service hotel. There is no reception. Instead when checking in you make a call using a phone on the wall and the operator opens a small locker with keys to the room. There is no full time staff there only the cleaning service during the day. There is also no restaurant. For me it was no problem...

I came back after a good stay of 4 nights and 5 days. The water in the shower room didn't drain well, so I cleaned it myself and showered. It needs to be cleaned more thoroughly.

Located in the center of Essen, next to the Christmas market and not far away from a pork knuckle shop, the hotel is very spacious and clean. The lobby also provides some drinks and desserts, as well as a bar.

The hotel is in a great location, with Chinese restaurants and shopping malls nearby, and you can walk there directly! And the central train station is also close by! Super convenient! The hotel has a gym, which is small but enough for exercise! Next time I come, I will continue to choose here!

Friendly staff and interesting experience to stay two nights in the UNESCO area. Our room was cold and we couldn’t regulate the temperature but a receptionist quickly fixed the issue. The hotel's environment and location are both good, though the rooms are a bit small. The breakfast is also quite good, making it worth a subsequent stay. If you need help, you can contact the front desk staff, who speak English and provide decent service.

Essen business stay Room was quiet. Shower good and hot. Hotel manager was great. Not far from Central Train Station. Only issue is there are no bars close and not many restaurants within a 10 minute walk but if you walked 10-15 minutes there were a fair few options

Located from 5-10 mins. walk from Essen Hbf. Very quiet and staff is helpful. Free one glass of beer or coke is available at the time of check-in. If you want to go shopping, go walk for 10 mins. and then you'll reach Limbecker Platz. There's REWE (supermarket) and you can grab some German sweets for gifts. :)
