It is a very good hotel, well located, efficient with service and very attentive to gests. Clean, comfortable with spacious and well equiped rooms. I loved staying there.

The hotel is near "Old City" of Essen and is very clean. The services are very good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are big enough, well organised and quiet.

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel with 3 kids. We were very happy, everyone was very friendly, the rooms were clean and great. The breakfast was amazing, something for everyone, the kids loved it. Of course we have a big car, the underground car park is a bit tight 🙈😁 but other than that everything was really great, we would love to come back :-)

Very comfortable rooms at an attractive rate! Its a new business hotel and has everything you need. I truly enjoyed the breakfast, the underground parking and the fitness room. The breakfast is a bit too expensive imho. But since you are right across a big mall (with a supermarket) which is open from 7am to 10pm, it can easily be mitigated. The staff was always helpful and friendly.

The location is really good (like 10 min walk from Essen HBF and the old town) and it is very easy to reach the highway by car and travel throughout the area or drive to Dortmund to see a football match (which was my main goal of the trip 😉). The hotel is nice and clean. My friend is on a wheel chair , can't walk or stand.this hotel have only ONE wheel chair room ! Despite having one Room in the Hotel. The other issue is that the room is so small.. not enough to be able to move with a wheel chair inside the room.. the room is all the way at the end of the hall way!! Shouldn't it be close from the elevator!!!. Not sure how they made that...

Best hotel in Essen! Very large room, super cool.. Bathroom was perfect. All the hotel was great. The breakfast: awesome! With everything. Best part of the hotel was Jimmy's Bar! Jimmy and his crew was super nice and helped us to find the perfect drink for us. Slept 3 night very well. Sure we will come back next year!

Very good. As usually in Germany you can find here all you need. Simple easy and fast. No special things but all usefull and in time. Yes, breckfast is good and reach, not kind of continental french, but real one.

Nice enough hotel very near the station at the centre of Essen. Wouldn't do it again though given the choice. Comparable hotels around have more to offer and are still competitively priced. Internet was good with strong signal in the parts of the hotel where I was. It seems to me the location of the Select hotel Handelshof is its main selling point. A worthy four stars. Quiet and location despite being close to the autobahn. Good breakfasts, clean and spacious rooms. The hotel has a restaurant and bar. In the foyer you can sit and warm yourself by the real fire in the fireplace. The room has a heated bathroom floor.

Had a room at the top Floor and the best thing about it was the view. The room itself was Ok but nothing fancy. Furniture and bed was quite old and used. Had the door open for some fresh air during the night but this made it very noisy. Breakfast was OK and all in all it was a good stay in this fairly convenient location.

We stayed here several times now, always during the Spiel Messe. The location is great, near the main train station and thus also the underground line to the Messe. And one of the advantages of Intercity hotels is that you get a card which allows you to use the local public transport for free during your stay. It is my second time to stay this hotel. Nice location, nice people and nice service. But My favourite is to see these creative drawings on eggs every morning when I go for breakfast. So I drove to Germany and stayed in Essen in early August 2023. As an IHG Platinum Member, most of the time I stay in IHG hotels only, but this hotel wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The service from staff is great and the barman and front desk staff were wonderful and very friendly. I had a very nice chat with both chaps and they gave me information of where to visit in Germany. Hotel is nice enough with a very spacious room which was clean. Only marking room down because of very dated bathroom which had a broken toilet seat and towels that felt like they had seen better days. Hotels saving grace is the breakfast and it’s staff. The breakfast spread was immense and the kitchen staff going the extra mile to put faces on the boiled eggs.

Room 401, retro bathroom with strange shower solution. Also non-existing sound proofing, you can hear everything from your neighbors. Pillows are uncomfortable.

We had a couple good nights in the hotel. It has a good location. The hotel is clean and offer coffee and some sweets in the lobby (complimentary). The staff were friendly and helpful. If you don’t ask every day cleaning you can even choose a free soft drink in the bar or extra point on your Accor account that is very green positive.

Atfer a long driving journey from Poland,we checked in just after 22.00, very warm welcoming from the Reception lady, 2 adults 1 child and 1 dog, the room was big and very comfortable, the bed was very comfy, the sofa bed was good for 1 night stay. The staff at this hotel was very friendly, staff speaks fluent English and German and gave us a warm welcome. There's a bar with a terrace where you can order tasty cocktails at a fair price and the bartender was great. The location of the hotel is close to Grugahalle Essen where we went to a concert, and the club in the city centre we visited later. By taxi it only takes you a couple of minutes...

It looked exactly like in Booking.com so don't expect 5stars, but everything worked fine and looked fresh and was clean which I like most of at any place first. Location is ok. Good enough to stay overnight. On the room wall was funny picture like from North korea😀which looked funny, it missed nearby picture of chuche😁.

Conveniently located a few minutes from the U-Bahn, looks over a pretty square, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. Staff was very friendly and spoke English quite well. The continental breakfast isn't what you'd be used to in the USA, but it was still good. The only inconvenience was they provided only one room card instead of two. Not sure if this is normal, but all Holiday Inns I've stayed...

Excellent and friendly staff. The rooms and beds were nice, but the bathrooms need renovation, and the sound insulation between rooms and hallways was not so good. The room keys wouldn't stay programmed for more than 15 minutes, so I had to visit the lobby nearly every time I went back to my room.

Breakfast is typically German (no complaints), but if you're expecting scrambled eggs and such then you'll be disappointed. Parking, if you have to use the attached parking garage. The 2nd time you were there. This time with children in the family room. As always, friendly. Breakfast buffet is large, varied and always replenished when it is empty. THE ONLY thing is not to find fault, if one says in a Restaurant, you want to the children to eat beforehand (as is usual) waiting for the children for a very long time or until the is brought by the adults.

The TRYP HOTEL is a 3-star category, the rooms are accurate and clean, it smells fresh and makes you feel at ease in the comfort that one receives. The staff is friendly, well dressed and courteous. You will feel in good hands as soon as you enter the Hotel.

Literally next to the train station (our room has view on the train platforms). 10 min walk to the city center. The bathroom is very small (although somehow cosy). The walls are quite thin, hence you'd hear the footsteps and talking from the hall way. The breakfast is okay.

We had a one-night stay in the Residence Inn from 9th till 10th of July. The hotel is new, the rooms are spacious and one is in walking distance to the main railway station. The highligh for us was the staff taking ccare of us: Khaled, Cynthia, Malanie and Kofi really know what matters in hospitality.
