City Hotel has a lovely staff that serve a hearty breakfast. The location is perfect for exploring Freiburg. The underground parking is also very convenient. The rooms are not air conditioned and can be very warm so we had to keep the windows open all night and put up with lots of noise from passersby and delivery trucks early in the morning. The mattresses and pillows are well past replacement time...

Family-owned hotel, very friendly staff, great breakfast.

The hotel is in walking distance to the train station which is very convenient if you arrive and/or leave by train. The hotel is close to the center of the city so you can explore right from your hotel. The receptionist and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

My wife and I enjoyed the location and the breakfast most of all. The facilities were comfortable and the staff were helpful.

Given the style of all hotels here this one is very nice. The room was good, the front desk helpful, breakfast was perfect for a start to the day, and the location made everything walkable. I would stay here again!

This hotel was a good value for the price. It was not fancy, but attractive and clean, and the staff was helpful. The location was convenient, although not scenic, but close to everything. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. I would stay there again.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Minerva. It’s a beautiful, small, and cozy hotel with a lot of charm. What I loved the most is that it’s not part of a chain, so it has its own unique personality. The breakfast was definitely the highlight – delicious and with great variety. The location is also excellent, close to both the city center and the main train station. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We've had stayed in this nice family-run hotel for three nights and woke up every morning with a wonderful smell of fresh pastry from the window. Unlike every other hotel we've stayed, this had a good breakfast, very clean rooms, friendly staff. We've requested an extra blanket (yes, in august...) and got it immediately. VERY IMPORTANT: they give you a "Conus Card" wich allows to use public transport...

Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, all very nice. I stay there when I’m in Freiburg and love the location. The only negative thing to say is that the towels were a little „tired“ this time and could use an upgrade.

Such a lovely stay at the charming Hotel Minerva! Comfortable bed and excellent shower after a long travel day. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety. Everyone I encountered was very helpful! Will definitely stay here on my travels to Freiburg again.

Great, clean hotel in the Black Forest. Staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was in a convenient location to all the major sights in the old town section of town. The included breakfast was also very good.

It is about five kilometers from the city center and is economical and OK for one night. The room is very clean and the hotel staff is friendly. If you want to experience the style of the old city, it is recommended to stay in the city center!

Very pleasant atmosphere. They also have a bowling alley that I look forward to using on a future visit. The only downside, and was a big downside, was that WiFi access was very unreliable.

I had dinner here with my husband. I had low temperature cooked beef and my husband had salmon. The food was amazing and the service was very friendly.

The single room is very small but comfortably furnished. The hotel location is central and relatively quiet. The breakfast offering was good and sufficient. I found the price level of the restaurant to be too high.

This is such a sweet hotel. Old fashioned but up-to-date where needed, good beds, super friendly service and a perfect breakfast bar. Nothing fancy, relatively affordable and cosy. We’ll come back when we return tot this lovely city!

I had a real pleasure staying in the Barbara Hotel. It is very well situated in Freiburg between center and train station. The hôtel staff was so friendly and helpful. A perfect place !

Very nice location. Room was good and staff was friendly. However, they offer no secure wifi. I could understand if it came with an extra fee, but no availability at all? I simply needed 10 minutes worth. A good place, this was a huge issue for me.

Great stay overall. Spacious, modern, great buffet breakfast, excellent location overlooking the city; ideal base for hikes in the park and the city centre. Plenty of add-on services that we really did not use, but may be useful for future stays. Spotless clean.

Best place in Freiburg if you plan to spend a couple of days there. Close to the tourist center, the place has excellent services with access to nature with forest right next to it.

Quiet hotel. Very clean. Reception was friendly. There is self serve fridge in lobby for beer juice and soft drinks. Hiking trails close by. Large rooms. There is a lack of electrical outlets. We had to unplug a light to make coffee. But it’s a small thing. Breakfast is available for a nominal price. Very filling.

Hotel is good to stay short duration. It is clean. No coffee heater, no coffee available.

The room is a very good size, with comfortable beds and an excellent bathroom. The check-in service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. They should provide a water heater in the room.

Comfortable in Freiburg The evening front desk clerk that greeted us was friendly. He recommended restaurants and called the restaurant we decided upon to acquire reservations for us. Wish our time wasn't limited in Freiburg, we would have liked to check out more of the city and surrounding area.

Spacious room, but could use a renovation. The flooring was carpet and had some old stains. I would suggest to remove the carpet and replace it with something easier to clean. Also the bathroom was rather old and could use an update. But for everything else it was a perfect accommodation. Breakfast was very good and staff was friendly.

Perfect location, close to the autobahn yet quiet Stayed for one night while driving on the autobahn. The host was very helpful and friendly. And the location is in a small and quiet town close to the autobahn.

Whenever I am in Gundelfingen I stay in H41. Very nice owners, nice rooms and the tidynes is 100% I highly recommend it.

Cute room in the old building, with the restaurant being Michelin rated 2018/2019. Breakfast was really good, and owners super friendly. The only thing to beware of is, being in the old city, you need to pay for parking 18 Euros/day (discounted by hotel from 27 regular price of parking lot).

Food was excellent. Fresh, different and healthy. Wonderful location on a quiet street underneath the wisteria.

I enjoyed really nice stay there. The environment is perfect, and the room makes you feel like you are at your friend's place for a night. Downstairs is Michelin restaurant owned by the same boss. So at the beginning of second day, you could enjoy a high class breakfast freely.

I was there with a group for lunch just before 12pm, after that you get overrun. 😅My pizza was super nice, thin crust and crispy. The prices are really good, the service friendly and quick.

Value for money absolutely ok. I felt the breakfast was much better than expected based on the reviews here. The rooms are functional but the bathroom was in poor condition. The mirror has never been wiped. The location in the industrial area does not inspire much confidence.

It was a lovely Hotel in a great location - quiet but close enough to all the entertainment that the centre of Freiburg had to offer. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Lets start with the location which is excellent and minutes from the main square.Staff were at all times polite and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful and varied,Down side is the room which has no inbuilt air condition and they give a stand alone tower which you either keep on all night or switch off.Not what we could do as it was 28 degrees in the city at night..If you take a 3rd floor premier...

Begin with the best, the location of Schiller hotel is perfect, you walk directly into the old city center of Freiburg. The hotel is charming and a bit dated. It is clean, with friendly staff, but it also feels a bit dated. But you should not stay inside your hotel, Frieburg is great, enjoy the city!

Lovely hotel with lovely helpful staff. Laura gave us a lot of help with advice on dinner reservations and spa tickets. Cecelia was lovely at breakfast time and made the best decaf coffee we had in Germany.

Cozy Hotel situated just 5 mins away from the bahnhof and about 7 minutes away from the altstadt. All the staff were friendly from the beginning. The beds were actually really comfortable and the rooms/bathrooms were well kept. Breakfast was pretty good. Small selection but good and fresh quality ingredients.

Just checked out, this hotel is nice, the location is great, I felt it was lacking a lot when I first walked in, but after communicating with the front desk staff, everything was met. Although there are not many types of breakfast, it is very exquisite and comes with wine!

Great little hotel in the Freiburg Altstadt, easy to access via road (public parking garage just 50mrs away) or public transport (tram stop is 4min walk). Great location. Would have gotten 5 stars but, as per Europe, no air conditioning. Our room was good sized, and very clean, even had a balcony. Tiny, struggling elevator was very scary. Great, helpful staff. Would use again in a heartbeat

Building and restaurant are cozy and classic. Guest rooms are tight and very modern. There is a nice lounge to sit and read or socialize. Our bathroom had an extremely small shower stall, with a hand - held spray wand only. Great location near cathedral and tram lined. Very nice breakfast in their elegant restaurant.
