I recommend this to those who are traveling to Zugspisee or Alpspisee by rental car. It is a little far from the city, but you can see the morning sun and sunset over the snow-covered mountains from the hotel. There is also a small lake if you take a walk right near the hotel. A great hotel right in the heart of the city among many facilities, restaurants and tourist sights. The breakfast was great and the hotel gardens in the back delightful. The rooms were beautiful and although the bathrooms were dated, they were historical and authentic, but very clean and a joy to use.

Very cute hotel with everything you need and in a good location. The thing that sets this hotel apart is the absolutely incredible service they provide. We booked a room on the day itself, but everything was readied for us when we got there. I even requested to add an extra person to the room when we arrived, and it was prepared immediately. We stayed in a apartment and had amazing views, the only downside were the pillows are too soft (pancake flat, seems to be a Europe thing)and the shower head was broken but still functional. We felt very comfortable at the Alphotel. It's not super-modern, but it was clean and well-maintained. Highlights were the view of a mountain range from the hotel room (with a balcony and small front garden) and the wonderful terrace where we enjoyed the generous breakfast. Points deducted for the bitter coffee and the lack of a refrigerator in the room. We would stay there again anytime.

We come back to here every year! The location is perfect with the lake and mountain. The hotel is generous with offering paddle boards and small boats which makes a huge difference. We spent a new years holiday at the Waxenstein and really enjoyed ourselves. The rooms a comfortable and clean and the bar is great. The location and view is very nice. Grainau is a great little town and the train will take you here.

If you want to enjoy the GAP area this is a perfect location. Grainau and Längenfelder Hof is a great choice for alpine scenery. You can get here by the small train and will do well without a car. I recommend you rent bicycles (electric or other) as you have access to great roads and paths.

Wow wow wow! This is the best ski accommodation I have stayed in. Couldn't recommend it more. The food, the service and facilities are a step above the rest.

The location of the hotel is simply top-notch. The house is furnished with much love to Detail. The Boss and the entire staff is always concerned about the well-being of their guests. The house is highly recommended!!!
