Hotel Zur Alten Brücke in Heidelberg

Wonderful hotel! Location is awesome. Right next to the bridge but not so close to the very center which can get a little too crowded.
The owner/manager is so friendly as is the staff.
Eat at the restaurant for dinner! Lots of good local food but elevated a bit. I got the big local salad add roasted mushrooms and was very satisfied.
Breakfast is great with a little hot food and also all of the normal cold cheese, bread and cheese at a usual German breakfast.
So happy to have found this place!

Real nice place. A little hard to find entrance. Clean rooms with modern touch. Area around is alive with activity! Lots of eating ops.

This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location, however there is a 'but' !
The owner / chef (I think) is quite rude and unhelpful, but the rest of the staff were very pleasant. If he is the chef, he should stay in the kitchen, because despite his poor social skills, he can cook. The food is very good.
The rooms are lovely, however there is no A/C so you might need the windows open.
The hotels fantastic location can then be a problem as it can be very lively and as such noisy. This isnt a criticism or complaint, just an observation as it might bother some people.
Finally, despite the implication in their list of ammenities, there is no onsite parking of any sort. There is free on street parking for motorcycles a few hundred metres away, but if that doesnt suit or you're in a car you have to drive to public parking (which the hotel subsidise). We were unfortunate in that we turned up on a holiday weekend and all the public car parks were full and we nneded to queue to get in as other cars left.
Not the hotels fault but worthy of note.
Finally tho' id reiterate the fantastic location, great rooms and good food in the restaurant.

Perfectly situated next to the Old Bridge and easy walking into Altstadt. The room was roomy, with a loft, and comfortable chairs for sitting rather than on the bed! Lovely!

Location is fantastic! Right at the base of the old bridge. Very walkable area. Hotel is very quaint and charming. The restaurant attached to the hotel serves very good traditional German food for dinner. Very lovely place.

Staff are friendly and the beds were comfortable.

Our room did not have a safe or a small fridge. Not sure if the others do. Internet was quite spotty.

We were told that because we booked with *******, the breakfast was not included but we did not have that experience with two other hotels we booked on ******* in Frankfurt and Nuremberg.

Beautiful rooms. Awesome views from windows. We didn't use the loft really, but it was cool to have. Staff were extremely accommodating. The location was absolutely perfect. We would definitely stay there again!

This lovely hotel is delightfully nestled within the heart of Heidelberg. Close proximity to parking garages, restaurants, the Nekar, and of course, the Alten Brucke bridge. Sebastian and his staff manage the property superbly, including an inviting breakfast brunch. Their courtyard is host to many a group enjoying a fine dining experience. If you need anything or have any questions about the area, they are pleased to accommodate. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. You will not be disappointed.

This hotel is a hidden gem located at the old bridge and gate. Great location making it easy to walk both sides of the river and access to the castle and all the charm of old tiwn Heidelberg. At night cross the bridge to the right to get stunning pictures of the bridge, city, and castle lite up.
