Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Hotel is not air conditioned, which is not unusual. Was able to open windows. Hotel was right next to train station which was nice. Overall, nice, comfortable hotel.

I was at the Ibis hotel a couple of years ago and I must say I was skeptical because my last stay was not that good, mostly because the rooms were so old and looked dirty. But since then, a renovation took place and the rooms look much better, are well kept, clean, no mold in the bathroom and no unpleasant smell. Your experience at MEININGER will depend on how inconsiderate the large groups are. On this trip, about 80 kids were in the lobby then when I tried to do washing wouldn’t let me out of the lift as they were bringing luggage up. They were taking the lift up one floor meaning it was impossible to get to higher floors, they wouldn’t get out of the way when you wanted to get out on the ground floor. I...

We brought a school class of 35 children to this hotel and had a great time here! The rooms were clean and very good for the kids as there were lots of electric sockets. Friendly staff at check in, a beautiful hotel with lovely architecture, easy walk into the town centre. Parking is on street around the hotel but a very quiet area so no worries regards security. Stunning city to visit, this was the perfect overnight stop.

A bit dated hotel, and not as central as the name suggests. Expect a twenty minute walk to the old town.

On the plus side : conveniently located and friendly staff - downside : poor sound isolation (you hear everything)- very old equipment - the elevator comes straight out of the twilight zone -

I went there for a wedding party. The service was very nice. The buffet table was a little small for this many people, but the food was delicious. Great location for this kind of event. We stayed overnight in the guest house which was also nice. The breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Heidelberg is a magical experience. From this hotel it's easy to access the old town on tram, bike, or foot. Be sure to hike in the hills overlooking the town. If you encounter unhoused migrants here or anywhere in the world, send them your love and see yourselves in them.

The location of this hotel is great, and the front desk people were nice too. But the facility was way below either the industry standard or our expectation - the knob of the shower was falling down, the curtain was also falling down and could not close; the reading light switch had no handle; and the shower drainage was blocked (see the photos) ---- shockingly this is in Germany!! A very comfortable and welcoming family-run hotel. The owners are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and mine had a balcony looking out over the Neckar, perfect place to relax after a busy day. Dinner in the onsite restaurant was delicious and a wide choice at breakfast. A family-run hotel, full of character and charm. Really appreciated the balcony overlooking the Neckar river and the ability to chat to my friend in the room next door. We had a really great time here! The staff is super helpful and friendly. Breakfast is delicious. Our room was sufficiently big and cozy. During the evenings, the street performers outside would play their instruments, and we could hear the beautiful music in our room, which was magical. There's no elevator though, so try to reduce the luggage.
