Hotel-Restaurant Barbarossahof

This hotel is set in a beautiful location, but what truly makes it exceptional is the people. Every staff member—from the front desk to the cleaning team to the restaurant—was gracious, kind, and genuinely welcoming. It felt like being part of a family. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the showers were excellent, and having a 24-hour front desk with a live person was a huge plus. The restaurant was also fantastic. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Kaiserslautern. Highly recommended!

This hotel is Awesome. The restaurant is amazing. Great steaks. The breakfast was excellent and worth every euro. Highly recommend. Very American friendly also. Nice location. No complaints.

Easily the best hotel we've stayed at in all of Europe. The rooms had excellent air conditioning and the beds were very comfortable. Furthermore, we held our wedding ceremony in one of the conference rooms, and the staff was so kind and supportive to us and our guests.

To name only a few of the ways they went above and beyond: one of the staff very kindly surprised us with a beautiful swan decoration in the room we had rented for the evening. She also helped us set up the sound system in the event room, and she was so kind and supportive throughout the entire evening.

Also, we had requested to rent a room for the night that was as close as possible to the room we were holding the wedding ceremony in. The staff coordinated to ensure the room closest to the ceremony room was available to us, which made moving items (and, of course, ourselves) to and from the ceremony so much easier.

Despite the large number of guests dining a la carte, the staff was very kind and ran dinner service perfectly.

Another of the staff members frequently checked up on us during the evening to help with anything we needed (lighting, moving tables, bringing down the wedding cake and extra plates for us). At the end of the night as I was packing up the event room, he came to check on us one last time and offered to help us tear down and bring our decorations and gear to our car.

The hotel had been coordinating with me to plan the room setup and seating arrangement prior to the reserved date. When we had a same day cancelation and had to adjust our seating arrangement, their response was "no problem at all, we'll handle it." I felt terrible asking for a change after they had clearly put in so much work into making the room beautiful, but they reasurred us that it was no issue and they wanted us to have a perfect evening.

My wife, myself, and our guests felt so supported and taken care of. I'm sure the evening placed a heavy load on the kitchen and front of house staff, but everybody was so kind, professional, and ran everything masterfully.

We couldn't have had such a special day without the support of this wonderful team of people. Thank you so very much for all you did.

Absolutely Wonderful!
We where in kaiserslautern only for a weekend so the room was a perfect little suite for my family of 5. The breakfast each morning was a nice and well stocked buffet with variety. The restaurants food was only outdone by the service from the staff. The steaks where delicious but the pumpkin soup was my favorite. There are also plenty options for vegetarians that are not your typical salads.

Absolutely loved my stay here. The room was amazing, they upgraded my room upon arrival so it was almost like a mini apartment. Came with a tablet for ordering anything to the room. Gym and sauna was great. They have a huge restaurant and bar here as well attached to the hotel. I won’t stay at another place when visiting Kaiserslautern.

I had the best time here. This was a great spot to visit during my Europe travels. The hallways were clean, staff welcoming and rooms were top of the line! I really got used to the fresh breakfast spread every morning. Oh I long for my days in Germany. The restaurant downstairs was a quaint spot that I often frequented. The food in Europe is sensational! I absolutely know that their food is fresh because it tastes like real food! One day I had a veggie burger and also some dessert. I had a few more treats on subsequent days as well. This is an absolutely wonderful resort to visit should you find yourself on this side of the world! #ashsaidit

Stayed here for a week and really enjoyed the onsite restaurant and area. It’s a little out of town but no big deal. Great forest behind the hotel if you’re a trail runner! Restaurant had delicious in season mushroom and pork dishes. Good beer too. No issues with the room, but shower stall is a little tight. Would def recommend a stay here.

We stayed here last night, booked by friends of ours who were celebrating their birthday in an event location 30 mins away. Check in was super friendly, quick and easy. The overall first impressions were good. The hotel is big and has been modernised somewhat but it's still overall 80's style. Our room was dark and small, first appearance clean and the bathroom was tiny but functional and clean. Silly Mars miniatures were on both bedside tables which I suspect have been sitting there a while and totally unnecessary. It was just a place to sleep quick for the night. As we were invited elsewhere we didn't use any other Hotel amenities. The shower was piping hot, the breakfast good if you want hot food, scrambled eggs excellent as was the coffee. It was only in the morning when we got up that I noticed the headboard of the bed. Unfortunately, I can't seem to add the photo of it, but basically dried out semen on the headboard! Totally gross, hence the 3 stars for the room!

There are many hotels likely with fake reviews on google which bring them to also have a rating of 4-5. This hotel is a true 5 star rating. We had to book this hotel last minute as our previous one was so unbearably poor that we had to leave it. We’re traveling with 3 adults and two small children.

We arrived to this hotel late at night and were greeted by extremely kind staff, a spotless room, and excellent working AC (It is very hot outside and we have a new born so a huge plus!).

The family room we have is super nice, with a main room for the adults and a separate room with 3 beds.

They have all kinds of fancy things that we won’t take advantage of on this trip, but for the extra picky people, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the amenities they have to offer.
