Schlosshotel Karlsruhe

•I did not feel safe in this location at night! There is no card entry at main entrance. I was followed by a man from the train station who was verbally attacking me in front of the hotel, and had to buzz 3 times before being let in! They did not think it was a big deal, whatsoever!😡
•we stayed 5 nights and housekeeping did not come ONE single time! I had to ask for toilet paper, it took them 3 hours to bring it! That was the only “cleaning” service we received! Even after I mentioned it to front desk! (I DID NOT HANG THE “no cleaning” SIGN ON DOOR!) after 3 days, I put our trash in the hallway because we had so many fruit flies!
•the beds were terribly uncomfortable!
•no a/c in bathrooms or hallways made it unbearably hot •no coffee maker in room
•I got a drink voucher for ONE free drink, for FIVE days!🙄
•an employee hugged me, then asked me out on a date. Inappropriate, yes, but he was the only staff member who wasn’t cold and unfriendly.
•a man staying a few doors down from us sent my daughter flowers. Instead of telling ME, they told my child! Creepy in so many ways!
•the plug for the bath tub was half the size of the drain. They offered to replace it, but they called the room about it very early and woke my kids up, so I said forget it! We had to shove socks in it all week!
•they claim to serve food in the bar later at night, (I believe the site says til 12) but every time we asked about ordering, they said they closed early. Normally by 10. And there is NOTHING to eat in the area besides McDonald’s!
•Late night dining options near the mall and palace are far better! Which is about a 20 minute walk.
•I recommend staying in that area, ANY of those hotels are sure to cost less and still be better!
(I paid $906 for 5 nights, and it did not include breakfast!)

Not sure how/why the hotel claims 4 stars. Rooms are tiny and major make over is needed. The proximity to the station is good. Staff is very friendly.
