Reviews
Bed was good, pillows terrible. Staff were friendly, location, right next to train station, so 15/20 mins walk to centre, bur ideal to move on your next leg of a trip. The lift is the best part of the hotel, built1928 - a national treasure, supposedly.
Reception staff was very kind and supportive.
We did not understand why the bar/cafe had no personal.
The breakfast is absolutely not bad, but even that could have some extra attention.
Date and time: June 20, 2025 at 7:30 am.
Receptionist: a middle aged woman with black hair
To checkout I proceed to the reception counter, which normally is flanked by thick hanging red bands (indicating that one must not cross them -- it's a no-go zone). You must wait outside of the band, and the receptionist will come to you.
Now on this date and time, the bands did not go all the way across. There was a 20 inch gap which appeared purposeful, as if people are allowed to go past the band and directly reach the receptionist's desk. As I tried to do so, this receptionist came towards me and started to lecture me on how to read the red band sign (red bands mean a no-go zone) in a condescending manner, which is pretty obvious for any reasonably functioning human being. I did point out to her the gap, and retorted that you all should do a better job at designing this sign rather than lecture me.
All this ruined the mood for me completely. If a CCTV camera footage is available to the hotel authorities, I request that appropriate action must be taken against this employee.
The breakfast was yummy. Scrambled eggs is always a hit with me. :) And the staff, from the minute I registered to the breakfast staff were all very attentive to my requests.
Great spot right across from the train station with shopping and restaurants all withing a couple blocks. (Also a nice little walking/biking path through a zoo/park thing that was quite nice.)
The breakfast was probably the best part with a nice little spread of options to get you going.
The fitness center is an additional 7 euros a day and has hours of 6am to 10pm which isn't great for those of us Americans with jet lag but they didn't seem too strict on the hours.
