Reviews
One night layover between flights.
Arrival early evening. Departure first thing.
Free airport shuttle saved around 50 EUR return.
Check in was smooth (self-service).
In-house restaurant delivered.
Flammkuchen arrived fresh and very fairly priced.
On site brewery served good beer. Although, closing soon due to low demand, which feels like a loss.
Room experience needs work.
Cleanliness fell short.
Hair found on bed sheets, same issue mentioned in other reviews.
Rooms feel dated, though for 50 EUR the standard beats many hotels in the same range.
Good value for a short airport stay.
Just some basics need sharper attention.
I ended up at this hotel after my flight was cancelled, and it was an excellent choice. The rooms are clean, spacious, and equipped with very comfortable beds, which allowed me to rest after a stressful day. The service deserves a big plus – the staff is exceptionally kind and helpful in a difficult situation. The breakfast is delicious and offers a great variety, and the coffee is excellent. The restaurant area itself is very clean and well-maintained.
Regarding airport transfers:
Terminal 1: about a 20-minute drive.
Terminal 2: an additional 5 minutes.
I definitely recommend it!
We booked the Park, Sleep & Fly arrangement at Hey Lou. After returning from our vacation, our flight landed at 19:00, so we decided to book a hotel room to rest from our long journey and drive home to the Netherlands the next morning.
Check-in was easy and quick, within five minutes we were in our room.
Unfortunately, the room felt outdated. The bed was very hard, as were the pillows. We didn’t want to complain about this since it might simply be a matter of personal preference.
Coming back from a summer holiday, we expected it to feel cold in Frankfurt. To our surprise, the hotel room was extremely hot. It was so warm that we were sweating while doing nothing. We tried to turn on the air conditioning, but it seemed to be controlled centrally elsewhere in the hotel.
When we called reception for help, they didn’t want to assist us and just told us to “try it ourselves.” Because the heat was unbearable, we had to sleep with the window open.
As the hotel is located near the airport, we heard planes taking off and landing every few minutes. We could hardly sleep and were already exhausted from our long journey. (Even with the Windows closed you could hear them loudly..)
The next morning, we took a shower, this was fine and we have no complaints about that.
Breakfast offered plenty of options, such as bread, yoghurt, eggs, etc. There was more than enough choice.
However, the plates and cups were dirty, most of them had something unpleasant on them. This really didn’t help with our appetite.
In short, we unfortunately did not enjoy our stay, and we will not be returning to this hotel.. A real bummer..
Dinner was an adventure: two heroic staff juggling a full restaurant and bar. Orders at our large table were mostly wrong. I ordered pork schnitzel with wedges and pepper sauce. Got fries instead of wedges (fine), but mushroom sauce instead of pepper (less fine). I wasn’t alone—wrong orders were the theme of the evening.
Back in the room, the TV greeted someone else entirely. Apparently, I was just a guest in another guest’s digital welcome.
Breakfast at 7:15? Most items were already gone. I appreciate the staff’s multitasking, but overall… not fantastic.
Check-in and check-out were seamless. You can choose between self-service or staff-assisted check-in; I found the self-serve option very smooth and intuitive, but the staff were also readily available and friendly.
The on-site restaurant was a pleasant surprise! I had the chicken burger based on the waiter’s recommendation, and it was delicious. I wasn’t in the mood for city exploring and just wanted to relax and there is not much option around for a quick food grabbing, so having a good restaurant with helpful staff really made a difference( a little expensive though).
Breakfast was also nice, with a variety of options for different dietary needs. I personally would’ve liked to see a broader bread selection—Germany has such amazing bread!—but overall, it was satisfying.
There were water fountains available on each floor, which was very convenient. The room was clean and well-ventilated, with adjustable settings to control the temperature to your liking.
One small note: the vending machine on the first floor has a sensor issue—if you pick something up and then put it back, it may still charge you for it. So only touch items if you’re sure you want them.
Overall, a very satisfactory stay—especially if you’re looking for a convenient place near the airport with easy public transport access.
Public transport from airport with bus: 3.9€
Uber to airport: 15€
Burger with fries and beer ~23€
