H4 Hotel Münster

We have stayed in hundreds of hotels big and small, 2 star to 5 star. This is a good hotel that does most things right. The positives: friendly and accommodating staff, walking distance to restaurants and shopping, secure bicycle storage, good water pressure in sink and shower, good room lighting, shower with full door(though it does leak as there are no seals around the door), comfortable bed, quiet room, great breakfast, good elevators, clean property and room. The negatives: shower leaks all over bathroom floor, wifi is very weak and disappears as guests check in and what is worse is that because the building is so large it is hard to get any kind of cell signal, what they call “air conditioning” doesn’t begin to cool the room down(it would be nice to have a fan for the room or have them install ceiling fans- but I am only dreaming😜. I consider it false advertising to say the rooms have air conditioning when whatever they have doesn’t get the room cool at all. You will have an enjoyable stay except for the fact that you will be sweating in the room. It would also be nice to be able to open the windows but they only allow you to tilt them. This hotel would get a 5 star rating but for the lack of real air conditioning.

I paid on average €145 a night for a 3 night stay which was quite expensive for a small town like Münster. For this, there was much to be desired. The positives were the location and a very kind set of staff at the reception.

The negatives:
The hotel didnt have a gym.

There was a bad smell in the reception on all of the 3 days I was there.

On the first day at breakfast I asked for gluten free bread. Waited 30 mins, finished all the food and timed out. No bread. After that I called the reception for the 3 other mornings I was in the hotel to ask for gluten free bread in advance.

The food selection at breakfast was not great. Neither breakfast staff. I would rate it below average based on the selection of food, juices etc. One day there was a hair in my salmon.

Only one tiny complimentary water bottle in the room on the first day. Less than 300ml.

There were no slippers, creams, combs, toothpaste etc at all in the room. I had to ask for slippers and got them only on the second day. Moisturizer only on the third day (but 3 tubes!!)

There was a stain on the towel on one of the days.

Overall, too expensive for what the experience I had. I'd say this is more a €60-65 a night hotel.
