After a week of eating at various places while on vacation this was actually the best meal we had hands down. Really great beer selection but honestly they had me at the food options. Bring cash though because our American CC didn't work. They worked everywhere else but not here. We tried three different options which had all worked in the local area. Arrived at the hotel early evening and the service wasn't great. The receptionists seemed on edge. The room was spacious, however it wasn't as clean as I'd expect. There were hairs on the bathroom floor, on the bed and the bathroom had a strange odour. The breakfast however was lovely. They had a good selection of foods.

Our reception was very friendly, and even though we arrived late after reception closed, the manager greeted us personally. The staff was also extremely friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. Not a bad hotel, nice rooms with good showers, also nice and helpful staff. There are a few disadvantages, the parking is limited, and we didn't think the breakfast was great. Breakfast has enough choice, but the rolls are dry and the range of rolls is limited, you get a pot of coffee at the table, but the coffee was unfortunately much too weak! All in all not a topper, but of course it is only 3 stars...

An absolutely beautiful small hotel packed with history and interesting features. Friendly and really helpful staff. Rooms are lovely, bed very comfortable and the cleaning excellent. Your room is always cleaned early so you can come back to it at any time. Breakfast choice good with personal table service for coffee and eggs.

We spent 3 days at the traditional Hotel Post in Murnau in August 2024. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with a large selection, fresh fruit, and always an egg dish to choose from. There were also two fresh cappuccinos every day. Unfortunately, the rooms are very warm, as there are no fans or air conditioning.

I just want to offer praise where it is deserved. I stayed only one night, but should I have need I will choose to stay here again. Great staff, delicious breakfast and right in the middle of town. And all this for a very reasonable price!

A true gem on the highest point of Murnau. A magical, exclusive atmosphere that will be remembered forever. Marrying here is extraordinary and very personal. The area is protected and yet not detailed. The garden is simply gorgeous and the wedding ceremony under oak trees could not be more romantic. Really authentic, different and unique. Wonderful stay with friendly and helpful staff, quiet location with mountain view right across the street. Sauna available from 3-8pm is a treat after a day in the outdoors. A hot Gluhwein on tap in the afternoons and the fireplace rounds off a luxurious stay. Breakfast from 8-10am is diverse and high quality. Rooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean.

Amazing breakfast and super clean, large rooms! Wide shower and well provisioned bathroom. It was a nice walk to the city center and we enjoyed the open field with the sheep across from the hotel.

This was an excellent hotel for a 2 week stay. The hostess is extremely friendly and goes out of her way to help. The rooms are extremely spacious and everything is kept very clean. One of the best stays I've had, largely due to the great hostess.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days. The service was very good, the breakfast excellent. The room was of a good standard, as was the bathroom, if a little on the small side. The location in the village is very quiet and only a few hundred meters from the "center". We will be back, especially because of the rich and high quality breakfast.

We stayed one night during our visit to Oberramergau, Ettal and Linderhof castle. The place was very easy to find. There are enough park spaces on both sides of the building. Andrea of Alpen Gastehaus Gerold is the absolutely the best. We spent 8 glorious days and 7 nights in the Alpen Studio that had very comfortable beds with an amazing view of the Bavarian majestic mountains from our balcony. Everything you could need was provided and we really enjoyed making some of our meals in a well equipped kitchen. Their is a newly opened Edeka supermarket across the street too...

I was there in July 2022 for 2 nights with my family. The room was perfect. The bathroom was clean and the hairdryer was able there. Furthermore, breakfast was very tasty. As for the owners, they were very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this place.

Very quiet location, great farm, with lots of space and a wide view. Very nice and friendly family, we felt very comfortable. We were able to store our bikes safely. Ms. Onnich always suggested the best goals of the day for breakfast, which we were very happy to include in our daily planning. Our first holiday on a farm around March this year was super relaxing! The host family is wonderfully relaxed and natural with a loving Bavarian manner. They were always at our side with tips on the region and gastronomy, as well as sights. The Hotel Schillingshof proved a good base for our stay in the area to see the Passion Play. Our room was clean, quiet, and everything worked well and we enjoyed the daily maid service. This hotel deserves 5stars. Every corner radiates with beauty and a dedication to detail and quality. I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and solace from the nature. Book it with halfboard direct from its website (for two nights at least). It gives you a much better deal.

I was in Johannesbad for a short break. Very nice rooms, good comfortable beds, safe, minibar, etc. Dogs welcome. Fantastic, rich breakfast buffet. Very good food and family owned atmosphere. My room was very nice and I also like the pool and sauna area. You have the choice of a take away lunch instead of breakfast. I liked that because I had to leave early in the morning.

Typical winter Bavarian hotel, you can have a sauna after the cold day, and if you'd like a beer at the evening simply go down in the restaurant

You really felt very comfortable in the Alpenpark. The location is perfect; You can walk to the Kochelsee and after a short drive to the Walchensee. The view of the mountains is fantastic! Probably the network and the WLAN are not working properly, but that is not a problem at all, since you are on the road all day anyway!

Spacious and clean apartment that was nicely decorated. We didn't use the breakfast, but instead the bread service, which came on time every morning. A very nice host who also places special emphasis on hygiene in Corona times. The only minor criticism: there is no possibility to darken in the bedroom. The curtains barely stop the light and things like salt, sugar, pepper would be nice :)

This is a great Hotel to stay if you want to explore the region of the Ammergau Alps. The service at the hotel is impeccable and the people of the region are very friendly to tourists. This is a quaint hotel right in front of the mountain "Hörnle" - a great area to Ski and sleigh ride. They have a 4.5km long sleigh hill which you can ride down 🙌🏽 The food for the region is very hearty and filling from home made Spätzle to Schnitzel you can eat anything your hear desires st their in house restaurant. Loved staying there. Great hosts. They make you feel like home. Even in this weird and uncertain times. You can use the facilities to have your take away meals there. Glasses and dishes are available 24hs. The views from the garden and balcony are amazing.

We loved our stay here. We came for the Passion Play and Erol & Petra made us feel so at home. As if we were family. The place itself was excellent. This is a beautiful hotel right next to train & bus station, short 5 minutes walk to Passion Theatre and centre of town and a mini mart at the petrol station opposite the hotel (which opens till 10pm while we were there). The is a great place with big rooms and good bathrooms. Public transportation is right outside the hotel. The hotel has its own parking lot. As I prefer rooms without carpet, the room was perfect for me. Breakfast was well served with coffee or tea. I enjoyed a week with very friendly hosts.

Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful quiet hotel. The staff was so generous and helpful from check-in, breakfast, checking out, and everything in-between. The views from our suite and the balcony were breathtaking. The drive to Garmisch for skiing isn’t too far, but to Zugspritze I would try and find something closer.

The location is convenient, just 3-minute walk from the bus stop and 5-minute walk from the center of the town. The room is clean and tidy. This is a wonderful lodge, especially for families. It's in easy reach of the Unterammergau and Oberammergau ski slopes, which are good for beginner skiers. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We loved it.

Excellent location, very nice stylish building, very nice, modern and very comfortable room, owners very friendly and always ready to help. There is adjacent parking area that is very good (in Oberammergau there is not free parking areas otherwise). Highly recommended!

Very good location, friendly staff and delicious Bavarian specialties. This place is located very closed to downtown and parking is available around the guest house or nearby. There is very nice sitting indoor and beautiful biergarten. Food is delicious and fresh.
