Outstanding service, great breakfast - these were the best eggs benedict I’ve had in my life. The place itself is also very beautiful, a bit unluckily situated but they make up for it.

One of the best Spa Hotels in the world with a stand out breakfast buffet. Rooms are simple but come with Dyson hair dryer. Service is lovely. Hot and cold plunges are spot on. Try to get a room close to the river and sleep with the window open! ;-)

To be honest, my expectations were not too high when we checked in at the Bachmaier Weissach for an autumn holiday, a hotel in Tegernsee that is not by the lake, but instead sits right next to a rather busy road. But how I was wrong.
The mix of Bayrisch cosines and Japanese minimalism is done just perfect here. When you are first inside the door, you are in a different world. The always friendly and professional staff is a big part of this. But also the very nice spa and pools, the excellent breakfast and a Japanese restaurant that serves the best Japanese food you will find in Southern Germany. The Japanese bar (adults only) is a peaceful and very cozy place to end your day with one of their tasty cocktails.
This year’s addition, the Tegernsee Phantastisch, is nothing short of amazing. The Weissach Warrior, the parkour track, the trampolines and the virtual reality games will keep both kids and adults busy for hours, but there is also an educational part teaching about nature and the area.
Combine this with a hiking trip on the nearby mountain, a bike trip and a sailing trip on the lake, and this easily the becomes the best holiday with children, that you have had for a very long time.
Worth mentioning is also the rather busy and very good kids club. But also the Club House on the lake, take the ferry here, enjoy a remarkable good lunch, and then ferry back to the hotel, pure bliss for the soul.
All together a great experience, that an independent hotel in Southern Germany can delivery this kind of service and comfort is really rather impressive, that takes some vision and also deep pockets. So well done Bachmaier-Weissach, we will return for sure!

Fantastic hotel with integrated spa right in the middle of nature. You can see the Alps, you are relatively close to the Tegernsee lake and it has its own little river.
Great spread for breakfast, very comfortable and enjoyable spa with always a clean towel available.
They even offer a snack buffet at 15h (included in the price of the hotel) and a full complementary mini bar.
We had a great weekend!

The staff did everything to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We were able to visit most of the dining options except the Asian fusion style, and the food was very good. The breakfast is a perfect way to start the day and the options are endless.
The kids club was awesome for 12 or younger but we did not have time to do some of the more engaging offerings.
The staff was great when scheduling the hotel shuttle and got us around the area with ease.
We would return without question and the area is so beautiful.

We had such a fantastic stay at the hotel as a family with young children.. The facilities for both adults and children are brilliant. The hotel is luxurious and the surrounding scenery breath-taking. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you really want to experience what over rated really means, book younself for a night at the Bachmair. No A/C, bathrooms from the 90s, no coffee machine in the room. The biggest misconception is that you cannot order Roomservice after 11PM - not even a piece of bread could be delivered, while it was rudely refused too.
If you can spend another 45min in the car on the highway A8, please do yourself the favour and check into Schlosshotel Fuschl in Hof near Salzburg. Schloss Fuschl is spg as well, is category 7 and marginally more expensive for a truly better experience in all aspects... underground parking is also for free at the Schlosshotel.

Very Nice Hotel! Rooms, spa area and food are superb. Modern but traditional at the same time. Staff is really friendly and service oriented.
