Reviews
I called the receptionist to inform them of the issue, a man came up, it was awkward because we were already undressed and just requested new bedding and we would change them ourselves and would address the issues next day as we had a full day of things planned and needed to get some sleep. The floors were not clean we found a used bandaid on the floor. zero apology from hotel staff, disgusting and deplorable. The receptionist was rude and not helpful. We ended up leaving the hotel because we lost confidence and didn’t want to stay there for another second. We ended up rebooking at Holiday Inn City Cente, a night and day difference. When speaking to another guest in the elevator at the Holiday Inn about our experience at the Leonardo he was not surprised. He said they have a reputation for bad service and uncleanly rooms to save money. Booked the reservation with Priceline that noted the Leonardo as a four star hotel (as I said before far far from it) 10/10 Horrible experience will never come back here, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to someone I didn’t like. The sister company to Priceline couldn’t even get the hotel to respond to them, even though there were four men working front desk. The receptionist Thomas Frey should be fired or really reconsider a job outside the service industry, he was terrible. We are just happy to be out of there and in a reputable hotel.
Stuff kept my luggage after checking out. And they were very helpful.
If it had a heater in AC, i'd have given full points in everything. So if the weather is hot, this room is a very good place to stay.
Disliked · Only problem is heating. If it was working i'd have given full points. Weather was cold, and i got very wet because of rain. When i came to room, it was a bit cold, heater wasn't working because of weather was not too cold. But AC has no heating option.
I booked the hotel for my family and on the penultimate night, my mother left a necklace (of value) by the window. I know it was there because I saw it. The next day she went out without the necklace and when we returned, it was no longer there. We reported it to reception immediately but apart from "we'll see if the staff have found anything" absolutely nothing was done. We asked to please check the cleaning materials but nothing. I asked to speak to the hotel manager so he could check the cameras and he was also unavailable and staff asked me to send an email which obviously he never responded to. It should be noted that my sister asked for the ROOM NOT TO BE CLEANED BUT THEY DID IT ANYWAYS.
I live in Munich and went back to the hotel many times to ask if they had found anything but nothing.
It really has been a horrible experience to know that you book a room and you simply cannot leave anything of value where it is supposed to be a safe place and it is even sadder to receive no support and only indifference from the people working there.
I will never come back, neither to this hotel nor to any of the Leonardo chain because they don't care about the guests.
I stayed there for 5 nights and room service did not happen on 2 days despite multiple complaints at the reception. The toilet wasn't properly cleaned as well right after check in. The bed sheets were not changed even once! A receptionist even tried to justify it when their service guideline clearly states "linen will be changed after the third night [...] daily [...] for a charge".
I stayed at a Leonardo in Düsseldorf before where the cleaning as mediocre but Munich was just unacceptable. The hotel seemed to be highly understaffed as they were busy cleaning the rooms for the new guests and therefore had no time for remaining guests.
In addition, the fitness center is a joke which solely consists of a bike and cross trainer and doesn't have a single weight, dumbbell or pull up bar.
The wellness seems nice but it's hard to book a time slot and no chance to start the sauna before 5pm.
All in all, I cannot recommend this under any circumstances when staying more than 2 nights. Leonardo should reconsider their 4 star rating. It's not even worthy for a single star. Especially the receptionist at check-out was not interested in feedback at all.
The hotel is very convenient for U bhan only 3 minutes walk.
There is supermarket nearby.
Over all, it was a perfect choice for my stay in Munich.
I will definitely come back again next time.
