Where to stay in Tegernsee

Overall a lovely hotel with breathtaking view of the lake. A little expensive taking into account there is no air conditioning and the bathroom shower head was broken. The staff does not seem to know the region well and overall the service is lacking and rather cold. Very warm massage room on a hot summer day, massage therapist was not experienced , although spa facilities are excelent.

The staff was extremely professional. They were able to assist us with any questions and requests we had with thought and kindness. Arguably one of the best staff we have ever had for a hotel. Such an incredibly beautiful location. Fantastic staff and facilities. The absence of air conditioning, while principled in reason, can be difficult in summer; and the shower temperatures can be variable. These are minor complaints however, I would return without any hesitation.

Family-run hotel with charm. Ideal starting point for extensive hikes. The owners are super nice, everything is clean, and the beds are super comfortable. We would like to highlight the very sumptuous breakfast with delicious, regional products. We didn't miss anything, we'd definitely love to come back.

The best little boutique hotel right on the lake in a historical but updated building. It feels like you are walking in to another era. The service is amazingly attentive, and at the restaurant, in particular the fish and cheese, is fantastic. The balconies of the rooms are huge and overlook the water. Good food, but a first glance at the website suggests that the hotel might be more on the country side. The service is very good and the fish was delicious. Only the amenities were a little warm due to a missing air-conditioning.

A cozy but somewhat spacious hotel. It has a restaurant with two sides - inner "oldschool", a really pleasant authentic vibe. And street side with glass walls where you can enjoy the great lake/mountain view. Local people are enjoying their evening there and it's really relaxing. wife and I have stayed several times. This time we stopped on our drive from Italy crossing the Alps to Munich on a beautiful October day. We stopped for a small, delicious lunch on the patio. We enjoyed the fall sun and the one of a kind 180 degree view over the Tegernsee, into the Alps we just had driven through. We continued on to drive another hour to our Munich hotel.

I was there for 1 week. The hotel is right on the lake and there is also a delicious breakfast. The staff is VERY nice and the rooms are nicely decorated. Unfortunately there is only breakfast for lunch or in the evening you have to reserve somewhere else.

The Landhotel Sonnenfeld can only be recommended. Big rooms but not all with showers. Breakfast very good, enough choice of cheese, and sausage, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, scrambled eggs with bacon. Dinner simple, quick food, but plentiful, breadcrumbs finite, but everything was edible. We were all inclusive, so you could even take a packed lunch with you.

While we only had a quick drink after dinner here, I would like to commend the excellent wait staff and the fine selection of spirits. A locally produced Williams Pear Schnapps was especially good. The setting right by the lake provided a wonderful ambiance. I would love to return and try dinner as well.

We had a wonderful time at Adolphine hotel with our elderly relatives. The location is perfect as you can walk to all the restaurants along the lake at Rottach-Egern. It is very quiet and has great breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at Adolphine Garden. We treated ourselves to the King Suite which had stunning views of the mountains. The suite itself was incredibly comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Excellent breakfast and spa facilities. One tiny gripe was that there is no laundry service which would have been useful but otherwise everything exceeded our expectations

Just great. Were there to eight (four apartments) and thus had the house almost all the time for us. You can walk along the stream next door to the lake in seven minutes. Fifty meters to the Edeka, where you also get bread on Sundays.
