Hotel Porta Nigra

Great price and room(23) was great size with kitchen and sitting area. Very close to everything we wanted to see in Trier and was able to walk every where. Room was clean, check in and check out was easy. Hotel also had garage for us to park across the street which was so helpful. Will for sure stay again if in Trier in the future.

Great room, very clean with comfortable beds, only a 5 minute walk from Altstadt and Train Station. Also kindly let us leave our luggage at reception for a few hours after checking out 😊

Accommodations are fair, confortable but not a palace. Our room even had an electric kettle for making tea at night.
The location is great, close to the train station and the city center.

We asked to leave the bags on the day of check out, as our train leaves later and we wanted to visit the city a little more. They accepted without any problem. Many hotels do not accept or charge for this.

I already indicate for some friend's who may go to Trier in a few months.

My mother, sister and I stayed at this hotel for two weeks in late September and early October. We booked the ground floor apartment, room 22. The room was nice, the bed itself was soft, which has not been my experience during past trips to Germany, so that was nice. I can't speak on the comfort of the couch bed. The kitchen had the basics: dishes, silverware, drink ware, stove, oven, pots and pans, fridge, freezer. We didn't cook, but did utilize the dishes and fridge. The shower was decent enough size and the water got very hot. They came and did light cleaning daily and kept the toiletries stocked. Breakfast was good. Lots of choices in breads, meats, cheeses, farm fresh hard boiled eggs, yogurts, fruit, and cereals. Nice selection of juice, tea, and coffee. The nice young man that sometimes worked the front desk recommended some restaurants and helped me to purchase tickets online for a day trip by train and bus. On one day we got locked out of our room, no one's key could get the door open, they told us to wait in the lobby and they'd call someone, when they found out we had only a short time to catch a train, they found a way in. One window in the kitchen area was tilted open a little. These amazing ladies figured out a way to get the window open and were able to get us into our room with plenty of time to make our train. This is not a complaint, because it didn't bother me, but if you get the rooms around the courtyard, especially the ground floor ones, if people are out there, there will be some noise, it's to be expected. My only complaints are that the chairs in the living room area were very narrow and not suitable for larger people, like myself; there are no shelves in the shower or around the sink, but there is a little cabinet, the lighting is a little dim for my liking, and being on the ground floor near the courtyard, when people go outside to smoke if your windows are open, then you can smell it. I highly recommend this hotel, the staff definitely goes above and beyond, and the hotel is located at a decent location in relation to the pedestrian area at a good price. If I get the chance to return to Trier, this is my first choice in lodging.

Very correct for the price, room and clean toilet, full breakfast, 200m from the ancient "Porta Nigra" roman opens the old city.

We were with a tour group on the road. The Hotel is located directly at the Porta Nigra and thus very Central to the historic old town.
The rooms are quiet, the Buffet is the ratio of the price performance.

The owner-run Hotel Porta Nigra is located in the immediate vicinity of the Porta and the subsequent pedestrian area. But also the town of forest and the Moselle river are not far and within walking distance. The rooms are very clean, bright, well maintained and furnished with attention to Detail. The Breakfast buffet is extensive and the fully automatic machine allows you to prepare different coffee types. The Hotel is centrally located and yet quiet, and is easily accessible by public transport as by car super. Hotel-own Parking lots are available! The staff is polite, reserved and was always immediately available.
