Loft room was cosy and warm, clean and inviting. Staff were very obliging and it was a great central location.

Don’t take your mother on Mother’s Day. Took our mother a few years ago as a special treat.
The service was terrible.
We had white asparagus. There was, what looked like a hair on my plate. I complained, the plate was removed and the same plate was returned, minus what I had eaten.
Any other restaurant would have brought a fresh meal with an apology.
Our mother was from Ettlingen and we wanted to make Mother’s Day special.
We were not impressed.

Ate breakfast here after staying in a nearby guest house. Very pleasant. Excellent english language. Hot drinks served to the table and a buffet of cereal, cold meat, cheese as well as fruit juices and water

A very nice dinner was had here and the owners were able to accommodate nine of us without prior notice. I had the pike-perch fish dish (also called zander) and this was very simply fried without fussiness and it tasted beautiful with its bed of potato and vegetables (cost about £16). The hot apple fritters with cinnamon coating and ice cream was really divine too although a bit pricy (c. £7). I wasn't too enamoured with the Swartzer beer. Not much flavour so maybe I'll try the Keller next time! Service was reasonably quick considering the place was pretty packed out and our party arrived in drips and drabs, so full marks there and we also got service with a big smile - thanks a lot for a very pleasant dining experience!
