Amical Hotel in Wuppertal

My wife surprised me with the "Romantic Declaration of Love" package. I only got the data for the satnav and off we went. When we arrived at the hotel, the computer had just crashed. The friendly staff played over the crash to show us and explain the entire ground floor. There is a lot to see and admire there. At the same time, he explained the evening's schedule to us, showed us the restaurant, the bar, the breakfast room and much more. Then he accompanied us to the room, on the second floor, without a lift, and he carried our light luggage. We were lucky enough to get the room at the end of the corridor. It has a large bathroom, large bathtub, large shower, and a small flat-screen TV, which we were happy to use. The bed was lovingly decorated, a fruit bowl, everything fresh, was there and the brilliant "Pimp your sparkling wine" trolley. On the evening of the 3-course meal, we were asked beforehand whether we had any intolerances, whether we would prefer meat-free food, etc. That same evening, there was an Italian baptism in the next room, the large breakfast room with a gallery 😊 Accordingly, there was a lot of hustle and bustle, music, children, people gesticulating wildly in the corridors and in front of the hotel. It was a real hullabaloo in the hut and we felt very comfortable. Unfortunately, the hotel is also affected by the shortage of skilled workers, but we were told this at the beginning because it could take a while between courses. No problem for us, as this is part of the enjoyment. We are smokers and then smoked a cigarette in front of the hotel between the starter and main course, which we let them know. The staff were really kind enough to pick us up outside, as it went quicker than we thought and it would be a shame if the food got cold. As an "apology" for the delays and the noise, we got the drinks we ordered on the house, lemonade and beer, which we had ordered beforehand and afterwards. Other package bookers had apparently complained or expressed their displeasure. Absolutely incomprehensible to us. The couple who run the hotel were there all evening, always tried to please all guests and the few staff were also great. Always friendly and courteous but very stressed. The next day, we were served a hearty breakfast in bed, you could tell that they had been working all night. When something was missing or forgotten, a quick call was made and it was corrected. Always on foot up two floors, with a smile on their faces. We enjoyed the morning in peace and quiet and then visited the Leonardo Da Vinci in the Visiodrom of the Gaskessel. Then we went back to the hotel to have another coffee and have a chat with the owner, Ms. Kristina Nicoli. A little anecdote: my wife loves sweets. A beautiful double room, industrial with a modern, romantic and artistic twist. Lots of beautiful works of art, reproductions and even a Rietveld chair. The breakfast was delicious, all fresh products, tasty fruit, small sandwiches, lots of choice. Highly recommended... And will definitely come back again.
