I stayed at this hotel expecting a four-star experience, but unfortunately, it felt more like a two-star stay. The carpet in the room was dirty and had a strong, unpleasant smell that never went away. To make things worse, the air conditioner wasn’t working properly, and the room was unbearably hot throughout my stay.
Breakfast was another letdown – it was exactly the same every single day, with no variety or effort to change it up. Overall, the quality and comfort did not match the hotel’s rating at all. I would not recommend staying here unless some serious improvements are made.

I chose this hotel because of the advertised gym, swimming pool, and restaurant — key amenities that influenced my decision. Unfortunately, when I arrived for my stay over Whit Monday, all of these facilities were closed. I wasn’t informed of this in advance, and as a result, I didn’t get to use any of the services that justified choosing — and paying for — this hotel over others.
I find this very disappointing. At the very least, I expected to be informed beforehand so I could make an informed choice. I also expect some form of compensation for the money I effectively wasted on a hotel that didn’t deliver what was promised.
The room itself was fine, but overall, my experience did not meet expectations.

I am giving this hotel a very bad review, although this really is a nice hotel. The reason, the unprofessionalism of the night shift manager working on the 6th of June 2025. I was calling friendly to check room availability for 1 night. He answers very unfriendly, we do not give room availability information over the phone and hangs up. I call back very surprised and gets even more unfriendly. Check with booking he says. I said it was full. In most cases hotels have still rooms that are not being rented through Booking so I ask it again. He says let me check, oohh nothing very sarcastic. Wanted to speak to his boss but got no name.

This hotel is just off the city centre and hauptbahnhof, next to the local theatre. Rooms are clean but facilities are basic, and, on a cold night, wind whistles under the entrance door, if the toilet door is not tightly locked. Restaurant was closed in the evening due to staff shortages. Similar situation repeated in 'their' swimming pool, which was advertised as available but appeared to be located in a different disconnected building and closed both in the morning and from the afternoon, which made it useless for those guests who have to attend business or tourism during the day. On the positive side, lifts work and landings are glorious and separated by stairs from accommodations, hence, no rooms are are affected by lift noises. The reception staff are friendly but surprised me by prioritising their administrative paperwork activities to checking-in guests (though 4 staff were present at the time), making me and other guests wait for 15 mins, before anyone was attended.

It started off with us having a room with the Aircon not working in all rooms in the hotel and then the day after our first, they forgot to clean our room 502 and could not understand a word of English so was basically impossible to communicate without Google Translate. And then on our last day in the hotel, there was a fire somewhere downstairs (probably in the basement) so I and my family with a baby had to evacuate from the top floor with our important documents since we came from a different country
