Reviews
The room was beautifully decorated, featuring a modern design, a fantastic view, and an exceptionally comfortable bed. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a sleek, contemporary style, a great shower, high-quality toiletries, and a high standard of cleanliness. These elements contributed to a very pleasant and relaxing stay.
One issue, however, was the room temperature control. The heating was set to 25°C upon arrival, and despite ensuring the window was fully closed and locked, the air conditioning did not appear to be functioning. After speaking with several colleagues, it became clear that this was a common issue in multiple rooms. That said, as it wasn’t the height of summer and outside temperatures were around 17°C, this wasn’t a major concern, and I was still very happy with the room overall.
The hotel itself was very quiet, particularly on the 9th floor, allowing for an undisturbed and restful experience.
The staff provided excellent service, being friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive throughout my stay. Their professionalism added to the overall positive experience.
Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight. The food was of a high standard, and the dining area was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, making for a pleasant and relaxed start to the day.
Let’s start with the parking, which felt like a comedy of errors… minus the laughs. The hotel is situated in the middle of what I can only describe as a corporate nowhere—think “offices and asphalt” with no nearby attractions, restaurants, or even viable street parking. So if you’re coming by car (as most sane people would), you’re basically forced to use the hotel’s underground garage. And for that honor, you’ll be charged 25€ per day. Yes, twenty-five euros. Per day. For a garage that isn’t exactly bursting at the seams with demand.
You’d think for that price, the experience would be seamless. You’d be wrong.
Exiting the garage turned into a recurring battle of wills between me, a malfunctioning gate, and a complete lack of staff response. The first time we tried to leave, our prepaid parking ticket was rejected. Reversing back down the narrow ramp wasn’t an option, and the call button summoned… absolutely no one. After a long, mildly humiliating walk to the lobby, I was told—incorrectly—that I hadn’t paid for parking. (My reservation and the stamped ticket said otherwise.) The receptionist “fixed” it, but surprise: the same issue happened again the next day. Turns out, the gate itself was faulty. So maybe don’t gaslight your guests when the tech is clearly broken?
Thankfully, we were able to use the small surface lot where our cursed ticket somehow worked. Go figure.
Moving on, the room was fine—but noticeably missing a basic amenity: a coffee machine. At any other Hilton, this would be a given. Instead, we were offered instant coffee sachets… all decaf. It’s like the hotel assumed our only plans involved sleep and disappointment.
The gym? Let’s just say I now understand why there are no photos of it online. It’s basically two utility closets: one with some questionable cardio equipment (half of which didn’t work), and another with a few dumbbells and a lonely bench.
And then there’s the mystery auth charge. Trying to get a straight answer on the credit card authorization amount was like playing a game of financial Clue. Even after checking out—and settling the bill in full—the hold lingered on my account for two weeks, just long enough to be a nagging inconvenience while in transit and trying to manage credit limits.
To sum it up: the stay wasn’t awful, but for a Hilton-branded property, there were enough issues to knock it firmly into the “meh” category. If management truly wants to understand the 3-star rating, they should start by spending a few hours trying to escape their own garage.
Staff were nice and professional.
Took taxi / uber to the city center as it takes about 30 minutes by foot.
I'd wait until renovation is completed before visiting again.
1) They forgot to clean my room after night 1 even though I didn't put any hanger outside.
2) I didn't even get compensation points for this when I called, as they just give points after 2 nights of non-cleaning.
3) Fitness room is a joke - take a look at Hilton Cologne to get an idea about how to do it. The cable pull has just 1 worn-out handle - can't even do 2-arms exercises there. Would be easy to replace or buy new ones.
4) Water glasses next to the reception but no water (again it's minor but adds to the overall we don't really care impression)
5) They advertise keyless room access via app, but it doesn't work in the elevator (on iPhone 15). What is it good for then, if I can't get to my floor?
6) Sadly no more sauna after renovation. But OK, I knew this. There's so much empty space in the hotel, they could at least use it for a proper fitness room.
7) Common areas not great but OK.
So some parts of the hotel are a little dated, we were lucky to be upgraded to a suite which was perfectly clean and very nice with loads of space, the only negative about the room was that the fridge was broken, however we could live with that.
The executive lounge was closed for refurbishment so instead there was an area of the restaurant set aside - we had a great choice of wine, beers and sandwiches/cakes every night - there was also one hot dish which changed daily.
The breakfast at the hotel was incredible, perfect bacon, the best fried eggs I've ever had in a hotel and great choice of breads, the continental section was also superb.
The bar was also great with lovely hard working staff.
Would definitely book this hotel again if visiting Dusseldorf.
