Reviews
Pros:
- staff is very friendly, everybody was helpful, and smiling, you could see them interact and be joyful and giving a welcoming feeling
-The food is incredible, from the morning buffet, to the evening one - lots of options, healthy, balanced and intriguing; from fresh sushi, fish, three types of meat, fresh pasta, to lots of nice and interesting side dishes and appetizers and lovely variety of desserts. You always have a choice, regardless of dietary preferences as they accommodate lots of them. In the morning they also have a juice machine which we really enjoyed.
- spa & relaxation area: it is clean, the quiet areas are good and recharging, rules are respected so you can rest or relax; it is not crowded - it would rarely be the case to be in the pool with someone else at the same time even, and the same goes for the sauna ( depends of course on which you prefer, but at most you would wait for another couple for the outside ones as they are smaller and the inside ones are bigger and emptier)
- the place is huge and well maintained, great to have some walks around, especially now with the autumn colours
Improvement tips:
- for the snack buffet it would be nice if there could be some options that include protein as well - for now there are lots of carbs and greens (although the waffles and cakes are amazing!)
- would be good to make it clear that the slippers are not water resistant; we saw quite some people with them in the sauna and the slippers just decomposed there
- there could be more signs in English 😅 we are aware it's a hotel in Germany, but some contain some rules and we did not always have a way to translate the signs (such as in the sauna area where you don't have a phone). Since it is such a great hotel it would be nice to accommodate this a bit more 😊
All in all, we loved the experience and are looking forward to coming back 😁
However, there are slight improvements possible and therefore - given the price tag of the accomondation - I can only give 4 out of 5 stars (I would give 4.5 if possible)
Cons:
- We arrived on one of the hottest days of the year and our room did not have an AC. After showering, it was also a bit humid in the room and this plus the heat made it uncomfortable for that night
- Our double room had two single sized beds pushed next too each other. We would have preferred a real double bed
- Complementary table water in the room and at the dinner would have been nice. Especially with temperatures above 30 C. The table water at dinner was quite expensive for what seemed to be tap water filled in bottles branded with the hotel logo.
Pros:
- The service was on point. Every person from the hotel we interacted with was very polite and professional
- The quality and variarty of the food was amazing. I am vegetarian and I was worried a bit that maybe the selection might not be too big for me, especially since the hotel advertises its buffet with "live cooking" and such, which usually favour meat and fish heavy cuisines. None of that was true. I had the biggest selection possible and everything tasted so fresh and good!
- The flair of the hotel itself is amazing
Overall, we would stay there again :)
We spent hours playing billiard and table football, taking long walks across the surrounding fields, enjoying drinks by the fireplace, and indulging in the fantastic spa. Every corner of the hotel offered something special, making our stay both relaxing and entertaining.
However, the true highlight was the restaurant. The food was outstanding, with top-quality ingredients and an impressive variety of options. A special mention goes to the afternoon sweet treat, which was a delightful surprise.
If there’s one point for improvement, it would be the breakfast selection. It would be great to have some cakes or pastries available every morning, not just on weekends, as some guests enjoy something sweet to start the day.
The breakfast was ok but nothing to rave about.
I found the buffet dinner to be very disappointing, not a great deal of variety and expensive for what was on offer. To them add on the cost of a couple of drinks it definitely was not a €150 meal
The bar did not open until 9pm so there was no focal point during the day.
The areas where you could have a drink meant you were surrounded by people who were on working conferences and were talking shop and were not interactive with other guests.
I personally would not stay again as I was on holiday and wanted a bit of entertainment and fun.
It may suit others but all depends on what you are looking for.
The only good feedback we have, is the decoration outside, and the one Service staff member who was very nice & friendly.
Regards
