Hipotels Cala Bona Club

It was meant to be a family and friends holiday, a year in the making. Our family, along with three others from London, eagerly planned this getaway. After locating the hotel, we decided to go for it. We arrived early, around noon, even though check-in time wasn't until 14:00. We received our all-inclusive bands and headed straight to the pool.

As expected, the hotel was bustling with guests due to its size. We settled by the pool bar, observing the exhausted entertainers attempting to amuse the crowd. It was quite a spectacle.

At 13:00, we ventured to the dining area for lunch. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre, and the drinks were a disappointment. It seemed like the lowest-quality alcohol available in Spain, bottled and served to unsuspecting customers. Some might have enjoyed it, but I couldn't help but worry about the quality.

Eventually, we were assigned our room—an aging, run-down apartment located on the far side of the main building. We reluctantly accepted it, as it seemed par for the course in Spain.

In summary, without delving into a lengthy diatribe:

- Breakfast: We struggled to find a table every day.
- Food: It was mostly the same day in and day out.
- Drinks: Cheap and unappealing.
- Staff: They appeared exhausted and disinterested.
- Apartments: Old and showing signs of wear and tear.

The only positive aspect of our holiday was discovering a charming small shop called Nutrimax Gourmet, just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. I purchased some quality bottles of wine and salami to enjoy during my stay. Unfortunately, the coastal restaurants were mostly tourist traps, except for Singlot Tapas | Antònia Massanet, which served excellent food and drinks.

In conclusion, I can only say one thing: never again.
