Hotel Porto Calpe

Our booked room was dark and a brick wall opposite - not a sea view. You have to go into a narrow three corned terrace to see a sideways view of sea landscape.

This hotel does not let their customers to know in the net pages that there are high buildings next to the hotel blocking the view. If you want a better view you have to book a better (more expensive) room from the sea front side of this hotel.

Tranquility: The traffic noise and smell is annoying when you sit on your own balcony.

Silence: Everything can be heard from the corridoor (also by night) as there is a space underneath the door.

Breakfast service: hardly a smile or good morning from the staff. They look more bored and/or passive-aggressive at times. Not so friendly vibes over there.

Breakfast is excellent but not varies from day to day. Only canned beans and mushrooms warm choices for vegetarians. No porridge or veggies in cream/cheese etc. Great choises of bread, croissants, yoghurts, fruits and bacon/fried eggs and sausages. Special coffee with lots of variety to choose from.

Cleaning: it depends how busy time it is. Our room floors and balcony trailings were left untouched at times. Hardly a smile for the visitors I would say.

Mini bar is empty so you can bring your own snacks in there. There were also 2 complimentary water bottles when we arrived. 👍

Reception: empty at times and customers have to wait for service. Only one person on duty over there...then you could see him chatting with waitress in the hotel kitchen..a floor up..having his breakfast..?

Once a police came to our corridoor by night as a customer was acting aggressivly and shouting loudly. We heard that a neighbor who was worried about the lady in the same room had called police to calm man down. The hotel staff was not in my opinion present at all. Happily this man behaved after this.

There is no hotel book in the room at all which we found a bit odd. Like no guidance what so ever related to this hotel is found in the room.

All and all: this is a 3 star hotel. Don't expect anything more.
