Grupotel Playa - Adults Only

This hotel is absolutely fabulous to look at.
Swimming pool, beautiful beach location, great breakfast included.
When me and my best friend got here we thought, this is perfect!.

Unfortunately its not perfect, it only looks that way.
Its perfect for people whos idea of a holiday is spending all day every day, lying next to a pool and doing nothing.
And being very quiet.....

and happy to eat endless buffets for breakfast and for dinner(the dinner buffet is £25 but the breakfast one is free, so many old overweight fat people turn up for this one its quite a site!)

I have been travelling this world for 25 years.
I have stayed in hotels all over this world.
I am 43 years old at the time of writing this;
And i can honestly say, this place is for old people only.

If your around my age or younger, and dont go to bed till around 12am when your on your holidays; and like to have a room conversation with either your partner or with a friend you come on holiday with....this is most definitely not the place to stay.

The rooms are nice, the balcony and the views are lovely, but the complaints we have received over 4 nights staying here for simply talking to each other in our room has been ridiculous.

Never in my life have i experienced anything like it.

Its an "adult only" hotel, but really they should say its a "old age pensioner" hotel only.

The poolside scene here makes you wanna go to the gym everyday so you dont end up like the obese monsters that roam by it!

That may sound like am being bad and making a fool of old overweight people, but honestly, am not.
Its just the general scene of the place.
You need to see it to beleive it!

Its like an old folks home but everyone is wearing kingsize swimsuits and speedos.

The many many lifts in the place are tiny, and me and my friend who stayed on the 6th floor had to get out the lift going down from ther and take the stairs.
Because the size and weight of the people calling the lift from below floors made an alarm sound.
The lift couldnt handle the weight of some of these ones getting in. .
There is absolutely NO ATMOSPHERE in the place.
The most exciting thing that happens in the place is a kinda pool exercise thing.
They put music on and a "lifeguard" dances about poolside with a rubber ring around him and fat old people copy his moves in the water(Near causing a tsunami).

If.you are old, and want peace and quite, and want to wear swimsuits that would scare children, this definitely is the place for you.
If your under 50, and go to bed after 10pm, and maybe like to talk in your room that youve payed good money for, maybe even watch tv or listen to music on your phone after 10pm....
Then stay well clear of here.

In the 4 nights me and my best friend stayed here, we've had a polite letter delivered by management for talking past 12am, then on our last night, received a.phonecall at 4.38am, because i woke up and.went for a cigarette on the balcony...and "made too much noise" opening and closing the sliding door which leads to it!
Its absolutely ridiculous.
And the manner in which reception called me, literally shouting down the phone in the room"why are you awake at this time?, why are you shouting and slamming doors, many people are complaining ".......
I was in sheer disbelief.

Its a 4 star hotel people.
Nice rooms, but they are small.

I dont want to sound like am against old people here, because one day i will also be old, i hope(although i pray im not the size that most are in here)

If your old then you deserve to stay in a place like this.
Its great.
But if your not old and dont go to your bed at 10pm DO NOT STAY HERE.

i have many many reviews on google.from all.corners if this world, and i can honestly say this place is more of a retirement OAP holiday home.
Thats my truth of the place .

The bay it sits in is lovely, absolutely beautiful.
But if yer under.60 and still want a laugh and have the freedom of.speech past 10pm
Stay well clear.

Mallorca is a beautiful place, but experiences like this can deeply sour the memory.

My stay at Grupotel Playa Camp de Mar in Mallorca was one of the most disappointing travel experiences ,I’ve ever had and clearly discriminatory toward Arab guests.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that we were being treated differently. Staff interactions with us were cold, dismissive, and at times openly rude, while other guests were greeted with warmth and courtesy, as I felt clearly unwelcome and disrespected. It’s racist. This can’t be targeted as a language barrier.

When asking for basic services, such as airport taxi, - which we were very specific, when we said that we have four large luggage and they have ignored our request.

Whether at reception, the restaurant, or general service areas, the hospitality extended to others simply did not apply to us. Speaking at a general service area ,I was sitting at a restaurant and they have deliberately ignored my presence - an Arab women with a head scarf (hijab) without being courteous to my needs, and all I wanted was a cold bottle of water.

On top of that, the hygiene in the hotel was below acceptable standards. There were dirty towels, a blood stain on the blanket. This has left me feeling uncomfortable in what should’ve been a relaxing space. Room service was no better, either. They only served bottles of alcohol.

Until they take real steps to improve cleanliness and offer respectful, equal treatment to all guests, I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel.
