The location is very private and beautiful, however the hotel looks and feels tired and need urgent repairs and upgrades.
The serving staff is excellent as is the food.
a huge downside is having to get up early to have a remote chance of a chair at the beach or the pool, they should just ban people putting down towels and arrive at 2 pm.

I just got back from Hotel Riu La Mola and honestly, I was pretty satisfied. The location is fantastic, with unbelievably beautiful views and everything necessary close by. The food was also quite good, with new and interesting options every day. The hotel itself seems a bit worn, but generally, considering the price, there's no room for complaints. The price-quality ratio is really on point. I definitely recommend it, especially if you're looking for a nice place to spend time in Formentera!

my family ate for lunch in the restaurant of this hotel and had one of the most terrible experiences you could ever receive. they were served by a certain valentin who theoretically would be the manager of the restaurant. this person treated my family in an aggressive and rude manner, preventing them from ordering and threatening them that if they left the restaurant without paying he would know where to look for them. Having said this, Valentino, I honestly think that you are truly incompetent given the fact that in catering, customers must be put first and respected so that you can work. My family's behavior was joking at first but the manager apparently didn't take it that way and they ended up arguing inside the restaurant.

Una estrella por una horrible experiencia que pasó en el bar de la piscina con Valentin. I have to leave this bad review due the LAME and DISRESPECTFUL “service” we got from the said “manager” Valentino from the pool bar. After a long while unable to order a coke to my mother came this guy Valentin (who was extremely rude from his very first approach) and started YELLING because my dad said something like “look,
you said one second and nothing” and yelled “YO SOY EL JEFE AQUI” y cosas como “aqui se hace como digo yo” and because he was so rude we tried to ask the coke to the other waiters and this Valentin stopped and sai he forbid all other waiters (who were trying to help) and again saying out loud and in a brutal way “nobody brings any coca-cola to this table” and even suggested that if my dad is not happy my father should go outside and he would “darte en la cara” of my father. And he also mentioned “and don’t try to go out without paying because we have your room number”, this was personally SO SO OFFENSIVE, as no one has ever mentioned at any moment that intend to not pay anything, (and we had everything in our room account anyways, so it did not even make sense), and i got so upset and my 90 yo grandma was scared of the manager, and my mother was asking him to calm down, we just wanted one more coca-cola with our food and my dad of course so upset. All of the customers from other tables were so uncomfortable and looking, and the staff as well!! It made me really really upset and nervous and had to go upstairs to calm down. Luckly the guy in the reception was very lovely and attentive -thank you so much to him for helping me!
I do not think i could let this skip away without a not, because it really ruined our lunch, and of course will prevent us to return… plus, a person with an rude and agressive mood/ short temper should not ever been dealing with customers service… like, as people skills is a huge important part of it.

Worst experience ever and unfortunately it’s only the first day in this orrible hotel. Room and bathroom not cleaned and not well mantained and equipped. The window was broken so that everyone can enter into the room and steal our belongings. We enter into the room after a day at the beach and we had almost a heart attack because a stranger was in the bathroom!!! After the shock we discovered that he was an employee of the hotel painting the room (something that should have been done when the room was not occupied by guests). We complained to the reception and they said that they will give us un upgrade but instead the new room was smaller and the bathroom not cleaned! Awful awful experience, I do not recommend at all!

Discrimination against families of 5 or more.
We have three little kids. We booked a bungalow which has two big rooms, one room with a double-bed, and another room with two single beds. We asked for a crib for the little one who is 1 year old, and we were told this is not possible. They don’t allow 5 people, even if one is a baby, in the same bungalow. In fact they don’t allow 5 people in any room.
The only solution was to pay for 2 rooms, which is ridiculous given that the bungalow is big enough for a family of 5.
My husband had to sleep with one kid in one room, and I slept with the other kid and the baby in another room. And to make it worse, the rooms were not close to each other.
We don’t recommend this hotel for families with three or more little kids.

Formentera is one of the loveliest places I‘ve traveled to. The water is so incredible clear and clean. The Riu La Mola has very nice, forthcoming and professional staff! Valeria at the front desk was beyond helpful and welcoming.

The rooms could use an upgrade (Climate is rattling, furniture has seen better days, mirrors are cloudy) but are very clean and to be honest: you stay outdoors mostly anyway.

The food is very good, the drinks at the bar are as chilled as the DJs music.

Tip: get up early to get a hammock at the beach (paid separately with card or cash). There are definitely not enough to serve all guests, as space on the beach is limited.

All in all recommended for having a great time on Formentera!

We had an amazing time at Riu La Mola. The staff is really friendly and polite, always ready to help and smiling. The rooms are very good and get cleaned on a daily basis. The kitchen is also really good. Every night you have different dishes to choose from.
The beach in front of the hotel has really clean waters and you can walk to all nearby beaches too.
At the evening you can enjoy a drink at the bar. They offer different shows every night. We as a young couple enjoyed our staying at Riu.
Thanks a lot for the best experience to the amazing staff. We will definetely visit again!

Five stars for Riu Formentara!

My family and I stayed at Riu for about a week. The location is stunning and absolutely perfect. But somehow, the staff and service were even better. Natalia and Alejandro at the Riu Kids Club are amazing - our daughter had a BLAST doing all the kids club activities. They were engaging and fun - our daughter said it was the highlight of our trip! And Lolly at the front desk was accommodating and kind - coordinating a special birthday surprise for me.

Next time we are in Formentara, we are absolutely staying here!
