ibis Bordeaux Centre Meriadeck

This Ibis is ok. I loved the unlimited (even sparkling) water one could get from the lobby. The rooms are very small, but the essentials are there, so nothing to complain about. What is exceptionally bad is the breakfast. The coffee is borderline undrinkable and there are only two machines for a large breakfast room (which also has too few tables and is thus always crowded and loud). As a result, one has to cue for several minutes for every cup of (poor quality) coffee. Also the buffet is pretty lousy. Very limited variety. There is not a single piece of vegetables in the room, which makes the artificially tasting scrambled eggs a pretty dull experience. There are no labels on the breakfast items. If you care about what you eat and what could be the difference between the three bowls of joghurt-like substances, good luck to you! To sum up. If you only need a roof over your head, this is a decent hotel for a few nights. However, if you have even the slightest appreciation for a good breakfast, you can find something better. Pretty much any other place would be better. I cannot recall an equally bad hotel breakfast.

Very basic. Clean room but looked a bit tired. Shower over bath, it was quite difficult to get in & out of the shower due to large, fixed shower screen. Quite good location, only few minutes walk to restaurants and downtown.
