InterContinental Bordeaux Le Grand Hotel, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Bordeaux. It is a perfect place to explore the city on foot or get around on a rental bike. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. Some of the amenities were not properly functioning though. The coffee maker was broken and the toiletries were not working or not filled up properly. The shower gel was so liquidity that we could not use it.
We had drinks at the bar and received excellent service. However, service at breakfast was substandard and certainly not on par for a 5* hotel. The buffet was bland. The Americano we ordered was regular drip coffee that was not even hot. The eggs we ordered were not edible. My wife ordered poached eggs and we received boiled ones that were so runny that one could not even peel them. The service personell was inattentive, distracted and slow.
Overall, I think we would probably consider staying here again because of the nice rooms and great location but if we experienced this service again we'd certainly complain.
