Where to stay in Bordeaux

I stayed last week for 4 nights. This is about my 7th stay there and it honestly gets better each time. The hotel runs like a hotel should. It is extremely clean and well organized and has a very positive energy throughout. The staff are exceptional! You are warmly greeted by everyone and it is genuine. I don't give 5 stars that often but this hotel deserves it! From the impeccable cleanliness to the lovely view, friendly and helpful staff, it is top notch, and for a very decent price. I'll absolutely be back!

We have just returned from a four day stay at the Hilton. The hotel and trip was great especially the hotel which in my opinion is very well located. We stayed two nights. I wish it could have been longer. The service was first rate. The hotel is modern. The rooms were bright. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and a waffle maker. The dinner was good too. The fitness center was well equipped and of a good size. What could be improved is the number of power points in the room and the addition of USB charge points.

Clean rooms and comfortable beds. It's walking distance to some really spectacular sights in Bordeaux. The AC controller doesn't seem to make an impact on the temperature in the room

Situated on the south bank, a little in land and in a residential area, the hotel is well located for many local attractions. The staff were extremely polite and friendly - nothing was too much for them to make the stay better. The main area of the hotel looks a bit dated, however the rooms are being upgraded so assume this will be transformed at some point.

Kinda expensive but worth it. We even came back again rooms clean. Good beds. Nice amount of space. Right in the center of the old town but room very quiet. Breakfast: ok nothing special but you would need to do a bit of walking to find another place less expensive.

We booked this hotel as part of an EasyJet package. An absolute delight. The location is superb, only minutes away from the beautiful old town, restaurants and shops. Having not travelled for a long time, the hotel and staff provided the best welcome and service. Staying as part of a larger group, the staff helped with many recommendations, assisted with booking, and were so welcoming. The hotel is very well located and the rooms well appointed.

Great location right in the center. Friendly welcome from the reception staff. The hotel has 2 separate buildings. I stayed in the one with a more contemporary design in the lobby, which was up on the 1st floor. Lobby & breakfast room nicely decorated, but guestrooms were a bit bland, but comfortable. Worked out well for my 1 night stay.

Private hotel for tourists. The location was excellent. The hotel is clean and tidy. The rooms are cozy, equipped with everything necessary. There is a discount at a nearby car Park. All within walking distance.

We paid extra for a 5th floor room which was really spacious and light and had a balcony with stunning views over trees to the river Garonne. Location was excellent

A great location to stay at in Bordeaux. Across the river from the main part of Bordeaux but near a tram stop and walking distance from some great restaurants. A great place to stay if you go for a concert in Bordeaux. We stayed here when we came for Lenny Kravits and for Elton John.

Good room, location and overall hotel. Service at front desk was not so great. There's very little explanation of what's included and what's not and you have to clarify and ask for everything! Beware, ask more than once if the cost of breakfast is included in your room, because they will market it like it is, but then they will casually ask you if you've had breakfast at the end of your stay and charge...

Good, though basic, functional rooms. Unfortunately no kettles available. Uncomplicated and helpful staff. Definitely worth the moderate price. You can save the 10 Euros for the breakfast by using the Cafes located 20m to the left and right of the hotel

As per usual with my past IBIS hotel stays the room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable and large, wooden floors are a bonus as you can tell they have been vacuumed and cleaned properly. Good reception feeling welcome. We were recognised as the guesta been there just 2 wks before. Helpful staff. We left the hotel very early in the morning, were offered coffee since the breakfast was not ready.

ibis Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint-Jean is a good hotel to stay for a few days, 1 minute walk to the train station (convenient for day trips to Arcachon beaches) & also the local tram to take you into the city centre. Try to get a room in upper levels & off main street to reduce the noise levels. The €11.90 Breakfast was fairly standard & clean.

Location is good, very central and easy to get around, layout of the room is not great.

Can’t beat the location and the room was clean, outside of that little redeeming about the hotel. The rooms were very small (nowhere to open a suitcase) and everything was dated.

What an amazing experience! Absolutely loved staying at this hotel, right opposite the Wine museum and close to the tram. A bit away from city centre but easy 30 min walk/20 min tram. Highly recommend staying here and would like to commend the front desk staff who were so helpful and friendly. Cherry on top was the adorable anniversary surprise we got in our room :)

Positive-Service upon entry, bathroom/shower, and cleanliness. Cons-Bed was SO soft (it was so soft I almost gave a 3 star), AC was worse than another hotel in Paris that was a lower star, the room service was limited (not what is expected for a 4 star property), and the bar had limited hours.

Stayed 3 nights with a friend for a girls getaway.. Cons: 1 - seating downstairs on the sand, don't sit there during the evenings as the critters come out of the sand and you get bitten like mad 2 - went to the pool, and there is an outdoor terrace. we were told we could not sit there until after 5pm, then when we came out at 5pm, only to be told we can't sit there after 5pm..?? apparently, you cannot...

Clean and quiet, small room but okay. Booking site said there was a bar open 24 hours but, no, no bar at all. Breakfast was continental for E7.50 and okay.

For what it was, fine. You pay for what you get. Things are simpler and smaller than standard Ibis but were still clean and functional. Breakfast available but I’d recommend the Colombus & Co cafe next door as a better option. No in-house dining options but not far to find other possibilities. Staff were very friendly.

Great location. Clean and modern, but the bunk over the main bed isn't great. Very easy to knock your head off it. Bathroom is tiny bit modern and functional.

As always Etap hotels offer decent value for money. We had a room for 3 (double bed and 1 bunk bed), small and with a small but practical bathroom/shower. The shower has a semi transparent window so may not be appropriate for a mixed group. The heat was also very tough for us to take especially since the window can no be opened larger than 5 cm.

Simple yet well located just across the street from the train station and the bus to the airport.Cleaning service in room does not include the upper bunk bed.Air condition was broken and although was working in the main areas did not work in our room and the staff did not really care about it although we asked for help. Breakfast is extra .It's basic and ok.

Basic but clean. Not very exciting. Much cheaper than other hotels just across the bridge if you don't mind the short journey across. Very accessible for Bordeaux city centre.

We rented a room for three people and one of the beds was not even prepared. The room is clean but is not as comfortable as we expected.

This hotel was a very cool oasis in Bordeaux. The rooms were very unique and modern and had great amenities. The breakfast was some of the best food we had on our trips. And the drinks were really fun, beautiful, and delicious. The location while walkable and close to the train station didn't feel the safest. But overall we had a nice stay.

Stylish hotel in a building that was a former university. We stayed at the hotel for a week. However, mixed service experience. I speak fluent french and my wife is french, so language was not a factor. Front desk staff helpfulness was dependent on who was working there. We stayed 5 nights. Great design, nice hotel that's a bit different. Everything clean, well built and comfortable. Two reasons why it didn't get 5 stars: have to pay extra for everything (spa, bikes) and our room got cleaned even if the do not disturb was hanging on the door. Loved the stay! Beautiful hotel, safe private parking, the area around the hotel looks very nice! The hotel is dog friendly, the dog can even go with you to the breakfast and our dog loved the stay. Starting to really love staying in the Radison Blu hotels. While each is very different, there is a consistency of both standards, and hopeful staff. This one stands out because of its close proximity to the waterfront, restaurants and its very own rooftop restaurant and lounge.

I’m staying here for a few nights and it’s an unfortunately soulless hotel. Sparse rooms with furniture that’s pretty basic. The whole place just seems to lack any emotion or effort. The lobby staff are helpful though. The rooftop feels like it’s getting ready for a soft open; not somewhere that is already operating and the staff feel disinterested. The food is poor. Ceiling of room isn't my cup of tea. It looks unfinished. The bed was comfy. Room temperature you can easily adjust. Cleaning service was good. Super clean, modern and pleasing rooms. Mattresses are really hard though. Staff are super friendly and helpful. My only complaint is for the breakfast. Fake powdered eggs are used for the scrambled eggs, the pastries were dry and hard, and the coffee wad terrible.
