I should start by telling you all that I rated the restaurant here 5 stars. My review is coloured by the simple fact that I regard €400 for a room to be fairly expensive, especially as we stayed 3 nights. This is the sort of charge I would pay for a very high level hotel in the UK with an excellent breakfast and dinner on one night. This made our stay quite expensive and for that I would expect a very high hotel standard. Unfortunately the restaurant is let down by the hotel. Perhaps a cheaper room would have been better. So- things that I would expect in a €400 a night hotel room (a Junior Suite) but did not get: Some attempt to keep the weeds outside the patio door under control A heated mirror in the bathroom Slippers At least a small concession to tourists by providing a channel on a decent TV for them. There is not a single foreign channel, not even BBC worldwide. The TV is firmly fixed to the wall and there is no access to HDMI sockets for your phone/ tablet to watch something in your own language. The bed very comfortable but the pillows not. One is small, oblong and hard, the other very soft and square. The shower screen around the bath is too short and the bathroom is sprayed as the water bounces off the body. As the shower is over the bath there should be a grab-handle to assist getting in and out. One side of the bed has an electrical socket, the other does not. There are no sockets around the table. We ended up with chargers in the bathroom. No opening window! No way to get fresh air other than opening the patio doors. Breakfast €25 extra! A total rip off when already paying €400 for the room. Good things about the room: Superb coffee machine! Housekeeping is good. The shower is fabulous! Both temperature and powerful. Good choice of chairs. The incredible view- which is why they charge so much. However, research reveals that similar views are available in town for €120 a night.... A note about breakfast: We then decided to take breakfast at an extra €25 each on our second day because of the weather forecast. The 'cooked to order' was nothing of the sort. It was a simple buffet of juices, yoghurt and bread with croissants bought to the table. Nothing cooked at all unless we wanted eggs. That was it. Definitely not worth €25 and I would not recommend it unless you are desperate. Far better value to be had in town. This is profiteering by the hotel and not worthy of somewhere which regards itself as high-end.

We had the misfortune to eat dinner here on a recent visit. When we started the night, we had informed the server that we had just gotten in from the US that day and were a little tired. We asked to see if they can be expeditious with getting our courses out. She acknowledged our request and we thought the restaurant would be mindful of that. We ordered the 7 course tasting menu. We sat down at 7pm. At 10pm we had just gotten 4 courses! There was a large party that was getting preferential service. When we spoke with our server about the long wait, she didn't acknowledge that it was a problem. Instead, she apparently went to the chef to inform him of this and chaos ensued. When he came out into the dining room, we thought that he would apologize for the delay. What a shock it was that instead of doing so, he start loudly berating us in front of the entire dining room for not understanding how French restaurants worked and that we should not have ordered the tasting menu if we didn't expect to have to wait. He treated us like we were uncouth and ignorant. (Mind you that we have traveled all around the world and have been to innumerable Michelin starred restaurants). He was so aggressive that my husband was preparing to have to physically defend me. We wound up just paying the bill and leaving without finishing our meal. We have NEVER had an experience like this in any restaurant. It was disturbing and I felt UNSAFE and THREATENED by the chef. I would hope that the managers of this hotel/restaurant address this issue seriously. I suspect there is a factor of racism against Asians in this horrific experience. Do not come to this restaurant if you expect to be treated with respect. It does not matter what the food tastes like or the view that you have. What matters is the bad taste in your mouth when you leave here.

Loved the hotel, the property, the decor, the room, the view and the best croissant I've ever eaten!

The view. One of the most beautiful views of Mont Blanc and surrounding mountains. Very comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Classic chalet style. The restaurant is extraordinary. The walk to town and back earns and burns calories but if in reasonable shape, very pretty and pleasant. Nice little spa facility also.

Great location (steep hill made us thin even with Savoyard food). Perfectly quiet rooms for sleeping. Great breakfasts. Super close to Brevant/Flegere lifts

We were very lucky to get a table for lunch at Auberge Du Bois Prin. Don’t think twice about eating at a hotel. The captivating view of Mount Blanc as you sit on the terrace combined with the fragrant and fresh flavors straight from the garden makes dining here an absolute delight. The service is exceptional and the wine is wonderful. Make sure to indulge in the soufflé and champagne at the end of your meal. And- if you have time, go for a stroll in the gorgeous garden to admire the abundance from which you have just eaten from.

This is a must-have experience for those who enjoy Chamonix. Away from the hustle and bustle of the centre, this gem of a hotel deserves the uphill walk. The staff is incredible and the food is just perfect... they even put together a picnic basket for us to take up the mountain because we couldn't make it in time for lunch... Warmly recommend a stay and if you can't stay there, at least try the restaurant, it's work the legwork!

A delightful Sunday family lunch. The setting is breath-taking, nestled in the Chamonix valley. Service was exquisite, refined yet friendly. And the food, oh the food was divine, a perfect mix between taste and technique. All in all, I had the impression of being right home, but with a chef! Definitely recommend!
