room was not ready on time
and the clerk could not find our suitcase. The clerk at the reception said that the room was not paid and that I had to pay again! Finally I could prove that it was okay. Impossible to take a bath: a piece of the bath was broken and there was no hot water.
Impossible to call the reception. The sound of the TV did not work. In addition, the eggs, bacon and sausages of the breakfast were cold!!!
Horrible experience!!!
Appreciated. Would have preferred a shower as bath had quite a high side and was quite slippy when trying to get out
Location wise the hotel is perfect and the staff were polite. Breakfast was a mix of hot cooked food and the usual cold cuts, cheeses, breads, yoghurt, fruits and juices. The breakfast room changes to a bar at night which serves affordable and nice cocktails.
As a travel writer, I have stayed at many of the Carltons worldwide
I was not very impressed with my initial impression
Check in was 16.00, which is pretty late for check in anyway
I was not given a room until around 17.45
No apology from reception
Not even a complimentary drink of water or coffee offered whilst I had to hang around reception waiting
Businesses nearby were closed & restaurants weren't open until at least 7pm so I had no option but to wait there
Reception area gives the image of luxury
Rest of the decor near lifts should be thrown away as it looks dirty
Room was a good size ..Not Wow
Bathroom was clean ..Not Wow
Nice to have separate W.C
Didn't bother with breakfast as needed to leave at 7.30am
Location is excellent
