Right next to the city centre (Grand plaza)! Lovely old style decor and furniture, even inside the rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. The roof top bar had a wonderful selection of cocktails and a great view of the Grand Place.

The rooms are spacious and very tastefully put together. When stepping out of the Hotel, you are just where you’d want to be for starting to explore the city. The rooftop bar has nothing to offer besides the view, understaffed and the staff that are there are either full of themselves or untrained. Edit 14. Great value. Excellent location and staffs are super friendly and welcoming. It's not a modern hotel by any means but the room was spacious and comfortable. Can't stress how good the location is. You are within 500m of a laundromat, grocery stores, dozens of restaurants, cafes, shopping mall, etc etc. We were able to walk to the hotel from the train station as well.

This hotel has zero soundproofing. The front desk called to complain that my kids were being too loud in the middle of the day. And then, we had to listen to loud partying and people in the streets for all hours of the night. The rooms are old. The front desk guy was nice and helpful and the location is great if you want to be right in the middle of it all.

Lovely square to eat and drink on. Made special while we were there in October 2021 because of the lighting on the buildings. Could still drink outside even this late in the year. Some places have heaters. The hotel is great for a few nights stay. Fantastic location right in the centre of things.

Nice, clean and cozy hotel on the center. We booked room with 3 bed for our daughter and the room was spacious. If you happen to get the room without view to the big square, you can ask the receptionist the key to the rooftop entrance. The view from the rooftop is magnificent!

What a lovely hotel and excellent service from the staff. Our room was extremely spacious and very clean. The super king sized bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was both delicious and varied. I would highly recommend this hotel. We booked the deluxe double room.

I paid for a double bed and received a room with what seems like 2 single beds pushed together the 2 single mattresss kept sliding apart leaving me on hard wood between the 2 mattress

The rooms are quite small and don't have a mini bar and some mattresses could be switched out but otherwise the rooms are good for what you pay for. The service is really great! The people at the reception are incredibly nice and helpful, even if you don't speak French. Even the cleaning staff is friendly and confirms whether they should clean your room or not, if you happen to meet them on the hallway...

A return visit after 5 years, the hotel is looking a bit shabby in places. Our room was quite small and the decor needed refreshing especially the desk the edge of which was chipped and rough. A mix up at check out resulted in us being given the wrong code to exit the car park resulting in confusion. Only had one night here really nice hotel built in an old church, has keep some very nice features, we had a very nice large room, breakfast was superb, 15 minute walk to the centre.

Magnificent! This gorgeous hotel is perfect for your stay in Lille. Walk to the museums or center square and have a beer do some people watching. Although the room we had was small, it was perfect for our overnight stay. It was clean and cosy. The buffet breakfast downstairs was standard type of breakfast fare, excluding hot food, which we appreciated given that not many shops are open early or open at all on a Sunday. Hotel is in a very good location for Lille-Europe station, we had a high floor room and no noise issues which was great. The room did have a faint smell of smoke and the bathroom had a weird mildew smell, the room is definitely due for a refurb and the sheets were very warm over night, they felt quite synthetic (not saying they need Egyptian cotton 😋) Overall fine for a 1 night stay but wouldn't return

We had the family room for 4 and it was comfortable. The location was good, within walking distance of cafes and restaurants and not too far from the bustling shopping area. We came by car and although they did not have parking in house, they recommended a place nearby to park. Can highly recommend.

We stayed for a night and found the place to be very clean and well-kept. It was quite dim and dark, but that is part of the charm. The staff were all very friendly and polite. The only problem was the shower pressure was very low. Other than that, it was great value for the price, and we’d consider staying again!

A perfect gateway hotel. Room was small but it is what you need if you are there only for 1 or 2 days. Breakfast was correct. Service was excellent, Alexy at the reception was helpful and friendly. This hotel has the best location in Lille, right in the city centre, near a large metro station and walking distance from the bus station. Clean rooms, decent service and a quiet night. All these things I got to enjoy. Only bad thing I could say is that the receptionist gave me wrong information about the city bikes.

Breakfast was very good and staff were friendly. View from the 7th floor was really nice of Lille. The room itself needs a refurb though. There were some really sticky black carpet stains to the left side of the bed which I kept accidentally stepping on which was really unpleasant. Ventilation in the room felt poor and it was stuffy.

Really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of pillows! Check in and check out was very quick. We had to catch a Eurostar in the morning, and the hotel is literally a minute away from the station. Very convenient!

The hotel is well situated, the price is good and room is clean. It is good to mention that there is no air conditioning in the rooms and that for the premium room only two pods of coffee and 1 bottle of water are offered during the whole stay. Super central and cheap prices. Rooms are quite old and small, but kept clean and nice. Checkin was a bit messy and our room wasn't ready when it should be.

It was a cheap stopover for one night. The room was quite clean, but not spotless. We booked the hotel due to its parking facilities however, when we arrived they told us they only have 2 parking spots which were taken, so we had to park in a public car park overnight. It was OK but not hugely impressed.

Had a fabulous weekend in Lille. Hotel was clean and comfortable but slightly overpriced for a family especially if you were to add the extra €11 each for breakfast. Location was brilliant. Problem with mosquitos at night but not sure what could be done about that. Also more toilet roll needed on arrival when 4 in a room. Ended up with none in the middle of the night on our first night.

Loved my stay at Shelter Mama. It's a great "lean luxury" hotel with an edgy vibe. It's a bit tricky to find a way to get to the entrance at first but it's a truly great experience! I had breakfast at the hotel and would say it's worth the money, as you get loads of fresh options.

We stayed with 2 kids ( 5 and 7 years old) in Lille old town branch of the Mercure. The location is very good if you want to explore the old town on foot. The room was clean. Lille downtown is less than 20 minutes away in walking distance. This was my second stay in two years and I did enjoy it like the first time.

Studio facing on the motorway, so we couldn’t sleep properly because of the noise. We didn’t have hot water the first night but nearly warm which was manageable but the second night no hot water at all so we have had cold showers. Shower gel in the bathroom not refilled. Limited breakfast selection. No air conditioning but a noisy fan.

Super three night stay last week at this hotel. Staff were very welcoming. The hotel is situated in a quiet area of the city, yet close to metro and restaurants. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice from cereals, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, to cheese, ham, bread, croissants and pain au chocolate. Fresh orange juice too.

It took about 20 minutes to walk from Eurostar Lille to the apartment. Check-in at 3:00 pm was easy and efficient. I found the room to be comfortable and fairly well equipped. It can be a bit noisy at night. However, the overall experience was good.

Fairly sized rooms, not as clean as I would like and very outdated interior. Bathroom is small but effective, however it is very unclean. Kitchen smelled pretty bad.

Nice rooms, we had no view unfortunately (just a dirty window with plants all in front). Bathroom was fine, plenty of towels. The 3rd bed was the couch, 4th bed was a matress under the couch, both not so wide... Overall stay was fine though, but wouldn't recommend for longer stays.
