Best Western Au Trocadéro Mini-hotel

The front desk lady boldly lied about G7 taxis going to the airport. She said they did not go to the airport. She also lied that there was no set rate for taxis from the city to the airport. There is in fact a set rate both ways. She ordered a taxi for me that was not metered nor was it a Parisian taxi - it was likely a family member wearing a suit and driving a nice car. He quoted me $75 dollars instead of the fixed rate of $56. We went back into the hotel and the lady said that was the price. When I said I was not going in that car and headed out to collect my mother and our luggage to get a real taxi, she said the price could be $65. Rather than put my 85 year old mother through the hassle (the whole reason I ordered a taxi through the hotel in the first place) I accepted that rate. That lady is running a taxi scam from the hotel's front desk.
The hotel is in a great location but I will never stay there again, nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone. I travel for work - a flight attendant for over 40 years - I know good service, or in this case, bad service when I see it.
