Reviews
Worst issue was when we checked in. We got to hotel at 7pm local time. Check is at 2 pm local time and one room was not ready. He said it would be 10 minutes, it was 45 minutes. He also said he could downgrade the room for the same charge if we wanted the room sooner. I know hotels know what the amount of rooms needed everyday.
Again, overall, I would never stay here again! So many better options in the same area, week checked!
I booked a “Superior Room” based on the modern, polished photos of renovated rooms shown online. What I got on arrival was something entirely different: an older, outdated room with no air conditioning, worn furnishings, and a musty smell. When I raised concerns, I was told this was a “different type of superior room” — which made no sense based on what was advertised.
At one point, I was even told there’s only one room like the one in the pictures… and that it was currently under renovation. Confused? So was I. Why renovate a room that’s supposedly already been renovated?
After a lengthy discussion/debate/haggling
— and with other guests overhearing the conversation — I was finally moved to the type of room I had originally booked and paid for. But that only happened after significant back-and-forth that felt more like haggling in a market over carpets than checking into a hotel.
This experience was incredibly disappointing, especially after a long day of travel. It felt misleading, avoidable, and not in the spirit of good hospitality. Is it too much to ask to get the product as advertised that I paid for in good faith, without hassle? I just wanted what I paid for. I don’t get the Zero-Sum mentality here. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you’re prepared to haggle your way into the room you thought you booked. I feel sorry for the staff and the manager as I know it wasn’t their fault, and they did their best, but this is a systemic issue with a scamming mentality in Paris of the owners unfortunately.
When I asked how they would compensate me, they said they could offer breakfast — but I didn’t want breakfast. I wanted proper sleep in a room with the same conditions as what I booked. How could they dare offer an incomplete room to a guest, and have no backup plan for when a customer complains?
If anyone wants to experience something like this, then by all means, come here.
This hotel was absolutely spot on. You can clearly see it has been recently renovated and the room was beautiful with a quint little balcony. It was a tad hot but that would most likely not be a problem for most. I slept with the window open and slept soundly all night.
The room was clean and tidy, with house keeping coming each day to freshen up the place.
This hotel is in an amazing location with plenty of restaurants on its doorstep and brilliant transport links to anywhere in the city.
This is a lot of bad reviews regarding this hotel and perhaps it is not under new management. I would recommend and would stay again.
Furiniture is a bit old but towels are changed every day.
very clean room. very comfortable and quiet bedding.
excellent location.
good breakfast.
helpful and welcoming staff.
