Mare Olympus is a small hotel overlooking the sea in Agios Nicolaos. The position of the hotel is very good because it’s not far from most parts of the town. Although needing a little TLC overall, the rooms are clean/tidy, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is lovely. I would have given 5 stars, but it just needs a little bit of work/upgrading around the edges. I would say that having a member of staff on the bar full time would be beneficial, but staff are quick to come and serve you once you find someone and ask.

Lovely place, lovely people. Not their fault it was raining. There is no indoor pool at Cretan village, surprising as it is so large. Nowhere for people to go when the sun is not shining. Everything! We had an amazing week at Lazar Lux Apartments. The staff was super friendly (especially to our little children), our apartment was extremely nice, the breakfast was really good, and a small problem in our room was fixed on the same day. It’s also just a short walk to a pretty nice beach which was really convenient.

Nice view from the property. But kitchen bar area needs upgrading. Breakfast was disappointing as all food offered was processed (the ham, cheese, bread, pastries nothing was fresh. Crete has nice bread, tomatoes, good produce in general but the breakfast was mainly from Lidl unfortunately. We would not recommend or stay there again as the information provided was very misleading.

Very cozy and family-friendly place, very quiet and very well located. Great rooms with wonderful views. Beach right in front, a tavern (Olga Tavern) across the road with an extraordinary view of the sunset. If you rent a car, you will be close to Agios Nikolaos, Plaka, Heraklion and Knossos, etc. Supermarkets nearby. Wonderful experience. We will repeat.

Have been to this apartment five or six times the rooms are very comfortable and love the swimming pool Yvonne and the staff are so nice you feel like family The pool side bar is good nothing too much trouble I love it here nice and relaxing deffo coming back next year

So chilled, staff available if you need anything but are non-interfering, which I liked as have stayed in a neighbouring apartment complex and found it quite overwhelming and cliquey, if you wanted to keep to yourself. Luxe getaway The location and suites exceeded all our expectations. Dimitris was very helpful with recommendations on restaurants and visits to local villages. Having private access to the beach was quite a treat and lounging by the pool was the real pleasure.

Nice low budget basic hotel, 5' walk from downtown. Host was super friendly, Wi-Fi worked well although premises would require renovation. Only downside the extra charge of €7/night for using A/C, which was not included on booking platforms. Good value for money overall (paid 30e/night)

Amazing room comfy bed and pillow, beautiful view from our balcony. We were given mugs, cutlery, coffee filters everything we needed. The pool was green and you was not able to swim in it. One cat and one dog!

Situated directly on the beach just on the edge of the town. Handy to sunbathe and swim and loads of great restaurants and bars nearby. The apartment itself was Cretan in style, dark wood and beautiful tiles with more modern communal areas. Popi on hand most mornings for tips and advice also does breakfasts at an extra cost. All in all a great fortnight.

Big rooms, great view! You get everything you need for your stay, very comfortable beds, great cleaning service, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. On top of everything Popi is a great host and very welcoming. Definitely recommended.

We found parking easily on the street outside the apartment building. Fotini answered the buzzer herself and showed us to our apartment. It was spotlessly clean and newly renovated. Probably the greatest welcome we've ever experienced when checking into a hotel! Kostas and Maria were very helpful providing information on things to see and do in Crete. The accommodations were comforable and we were fortunate to have a great view of the bay from our balcony. Parking can be challenging, so be prepared to park your car on the street somewhere.
