Hotel Calypso

Sometimes I doubt google reviews, but now they are 100% accurate. The only good thing about the hotel is the staff at the reception, because of them it got 2 stars. Parts of the walls are falling off in the rooms, you can see that a nail hasn't been hammered in for 20 years. Breakfast is better in prisons in Greece for sure, the only thing that is good is pie with cheese. Good location. Not worth 100+ euros per night.

Food is really bad, 7 days they prepare absolutely same food.

Hygiene does not exist! I am not sure what is dirtier (entire room, beds, towels, pillows)…everything is crying for a renewal…at least they could buy new towels, sheets, and pillows for beginning…it is not like it is that huge of investment…if you book this “hotel” my recommendation is to bring your own towels and pillows at least 😉

The best thing about this hotel is the location and the outdoor environment including the swimming pool. The service is bad, the rooms are average, decent for sleeping. We reminded the staff for 3 days to change the bed linen, towels and to fix the TV and clean the room. They are friendly and helpful at the reception. The breakfast is average, it can pass, there is no hotel bar. All in all, every price they offer you, know that it is worth at least 20-30% less.

Hygiene at the hotel is very questionable. Cleaning ladies don't do the job proper. During 10 days stay my room was cleaned once and sheets and towels also changed once. I had no toilet paper for 3 days until I protested, garbage bin in bathroom with used toilet paper was not emptied for several days. The only clean space was the swimming pool. Think twice about staying here

The place is definitely not for people who value peace, privacy and cleanliness. While check in, we were informed that there is a parking available for guests, but with an additional fee and you need to take it because the street is soo crowded. From 7:30 in the morning, crumbling plates in the kitchen downstairs, noisy people on the pool until late at night with tiny crying babies, there was nice, big balcony but you will not manage to spend there whole evening as per the smell of hookah smoked by other guests who do not care at all about the rest guests who want to breathe fresh air on the balcony. There wasn't even a single glass in the room or kettle to drink water or make coffee. It is understandable that a hotel with two stars you should not expect too much but the rooms were dirty - both bedding, fridge and bathroom (shower curtain was probably never washed), hotel staff opening the room with their keys after two knocks on the door, irritated when asked for a little more time to get ready to go out. Location okay, however the beach is so crowded you had to look for somewhere else anyway. Breakfast 5/10 - the same every day, eggshell in scrambled eggs. Overall, I do not recommend it
