We stayed at the Louise apartment. Everything was perfect and the unobstructed sea view from the large balcony was spectacular. We could hear the waves at night, which was very relaxing, and we could stare at the stars (half balcony was roofless, I guess for this reason). Very nice small hotel. Friendly host and clean room. Some furniture was a little bit tired but refrigerator and kettle were fine.
For us Studio Stella is the place to stay in Plakias. Nice rooms including a kitchen and balcony. But mostly we feel there the welcoming warmth of the owners. This makes us keep coming back.
First time I've stayed here, but I've been to Plakias many times. Stella has it's regulars and it's easy to see why. Basic accommodation but lovingly cared for. Owner is a great guy. Would certainly think of using Stella again.
Marcos and the delightful Evi..... I love them both. Such a nice couple and so welcoming. We will be back to stay with you. No fuss no frills, just a nice place to stay with honest people.

The suite we had was absolutely lovely. Huge bedroom with vaulted ceiling and circular whirlpool bath invites all sorts of good feelings! The living space was beautifully designed with massive flat screen TV with surround sound and Bluetooth. With a very nice kitchen and bathroom to finish it all off. Good and clean rooms. Small kitchen in the room convenient when making breakfast or to bake a pizza. The mattress could be a bit more comfortable. The location is great (20 minute walk to the fort/center) and the staff is very kind and friendly!
Friendly staff and clean rooms. I Recommend to have a car when staying at this hotel, walking distance to old center is around 30 mins.
The bad: Kitchen was extremely basic: cutlery and dishes to the minimum. Fridge was tiny and freezer hardly worked (24hrs to have half-frozen ice cubes). We wanted a place were we could cook, and there is was not very appropriate for that.
Location is far from Old Town (around 30-40min on foot) and the worse are the hills to climb if you don't have a car.
We choose the place because close to Koumbes...
I made a mistake while booking and they where very helpfull and polite even let me change room, great view a little far from the center but also away from the noise. Our experience was 10/10 i would recomend anyone who is going to rethymno should at least consider this hotel.

This place was heavenly : the view was truly amazing, the garden’s really pleasant and the only sound that could be heard was the waves breaking. Our apartment was clean and comfortable. My husband and I loved our stay at Argiri, and George, the host was incredibly friendly. The location was ideal, very close to many tavernas, supermarkets, pharmacy, and most important, the beach is just across the road.
This is a place to remember if we’ll visit again the area.

Fantastic place to stay. Some modern updates. Nice view. Cleaning and breakfast buffet staff were great! We had one miserable male night manager front desk person who seamed to be upset about us asking for more toilet paper and made me get it out of the lobby washroom. Not cool. But the breakfast was great so was the pool. I recommend this hotel.

Good combination of price location and star rating
Very friendly and helpful (for example they gave scales for luggage) staff, clean rooms, breakfast plentiful. Although with open windows a lot of noise seeps in from the street and the pool is small and shady. The beach and the old town are a few minutes walk away. Unfortunately parking is very difficult in the area.

Very nice and functional apartment, the building is really charming, in a cute and quiet part of the old city.
Irini the receptionist was so nice : welcoming, helping, funny and she made great breakfast with fresh orange juice and fruits every morning.

We went to Veranda Rossa for a week in October and had a truly wonderful time. The apartment is stunning and newly renovated and is located in the picturesque old town of Rethymno. A free car park is available at 1 min walk from the flat, which made things really easy after a long trip. Very charming little hotel in the middle of the old town. We stayed in the Executive Suite and it was very spacious and well decorated. Beautiful hotel in a great location. The old town just a short stroll away in one direction and the beach and promenade in the other direction. Hotel breakfast was great, All the staff were pleasant and polite and everything was spotless. My only complaint was the noisy air conditioning unit in our room, which sounded like a bubbling boiling kettle all night!
