Hotel Filoxenia is a small hotel hidden in between some others in Portaria. The owners take pride in their quiet and welcoming establishment and provide you everything you need. The location is wonderful, and sitting in between the large trees on a sunny day makes you realize that you might have stumbled upon one of the most beautiful places in all of Greece.

Very polite owners, especially Chryssa, nice breakfast with a lot of homemade sweets and pies and very warm and extremely clean rooms. The only negative is that the room we stayed was very narrow and the suitcase had to go under the bed. The price was good because it is located exactly in the center of Portaria.

Lesvos is amazing, but Defkalion would be worth the trip anywhere in the world. The hotel is operated by a wonderful family, and by the time you leave you'll feel like you've been adopted. Perfect basic hotel for overnight stay before heading to the islands. Rooms have everything you need, fridge, balcony and clean amenities. WiFi as well. Friendly check-in staff and has a breakfast room if you need it. Rooms have double and single beds. Recommended.

A place to sleep and have a shower in the center of Volos. It's an ok place with good price but the amenities and the building are old and not that well maintained.

Rooms were small for three people which I assume they weren't meant for three. Trying to fit in a third bed among another two, a wardrobe that's movable and a huge fridge makes the space very confining and suffocating. The room was clean but the hotel is old, and not as nice as in the pictures. They are a bit cheap with toilet papers and some other tidbits.

Located at the beginning of the centre of Volos by the sea, the guest has everything within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and the price was good, but there is a need for some maintenance.

Traditional guest house next to the main square of Portaria with friendly and polite staff. We enjoyed a sweet dessert of the spoon and hot cups of tea in the common living room with fireplace. The breakfast offers handmade delicacies with a variety of pies, jams, etc. The only drawback is the old mattresses.

Simply outstanding. We stayed in a suite that was fully renovated(we were one of the first to sleep there after the renovation) with modern but also a bit of traditional style. Yes Yes Yes. For the location, for the service, for the breakfast for the great dinner. Sure a few things can be improved in the rooms but most of these details should be overlooked when everything else is great.

Tasty breakfast. We also had dinner here, food is a little bit more expensive than in other restaurants nearby. The room was small and seems to need renovation, however this didn't worsen our overall experience.

A very nice view of Portaria's main square. Wonderful breakfast (included) and a very good restaurant. The staff are kind and welcoming. We had the family room, which is equipped with toys and book for children (in greek...) and is very spacious and comfortable. Note that this is an old building and its wooden floor is noisy; we could hear when the guests upstairs went to the bathroom at night.
