Angela Downtown Hotel

We stayed at this hotel for a week and had a good experience. The rooms were cleaned every day although at different times so hard to judge when to not be in the way. Our room had a nice sized balcony too with view of the pool. The only thing I would mention was the bathroom needed modernising but I believe they are in the process of modernising all of the rooms. One suggestion I would make also is to have shampoo/body wash and conditioner available as this wasn’t the case and you had hand cream and I believe swapping this would be a good change.

The pool area is nice. Small which is to be expected as it’s in the town. The sun travels around the pool so you do have to move around a bit to catch the sun. The beanbags should be changed for more beds as I think this would suit people better.

There’s also a brand new gym on the basement floor which is a great addition for guests.

The breakfast area is lovely and there is a wide selection of food available whether it be pastries, toast, continental selection, hot meats/eggs, cereal and greek yogurt. Plenty for everyone too. A bit more fresh fruit would be nice as it was just one plate of one type per day. Breakfast is served till 10.30am which is a great time as I believe it gives everyone a chance to avail of it.

Staff are friendly and will always interact with you when passing and help you if needed.

This hotel is a great pick for being central to the old town and the beach. 10 minute walk to each if even. There are lovely restaurants and bars around towards the beach direction that are much more reasonable than the old town.

Overall I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Rhodes Old Town. We would stay there again if we returned.

It was our first visit to this hotel and we'd love to come back!! Considering the age of the hotel, it's good looking with normal wear and tear. When you come in from the heat outside there's cold water and a tasty drink for free at the bar.
All staff are friendly and greet, clean and nice everywhere and good daily cleaning of the room. From our balcony, which was long but spacious, from the third floor we saw mostly tree tops, but thank God it was in the shadow both morning and evening.
We'd trouble getting water to flush the toilet one morning, but they got a plumber there before we got back from breakfast and soon the problem was fixed.
Wonderful breakfast but a little weak coffee, as it usually is abroad, so we have Nescafé with us.
Calm area and about 10 minutes easy walk to the bus station and Old Town or 5 minutes to the beach on the west side of the town. Pool, that we didn't use, is at the back of the house.

Very pleasant stay, tasty food, very nice service, clean rooms and great location! The staff were helpful. We highly recommend.

We are just home from Rhodes having spent last week staying at Angela Downtown Hotel. What a great wee hotel. it is situated in Central New Town, with many restaurants all around the area. The shopping area is a two minute walk away, the beach just a five minute walk and we were able to walk to the Old Town in eight minutes. The hotel's foyer has recently been nicely renovated and a new breakfast room and bar area added to the ground floor. No more walking to their sister hotel for breakfast. Some of the bedrooms have also been renovated. Ours hadn't but it was absolutely fine with everything you need for a perfect stay. Rooms are cleaned and towels changed daily, which in our experience is rare these days. The pool area is lovely and there were always sun beds available all times of the day. Pool towels for guests use is another nice touch, not now often seen. The breakfast, now served in their own breakfast room, had an outstanding choice and everything we had was lovely and very tasty. Finally all the staff were extremely professional and very friendly. Nina and Christo at the front desk proved to be very knowledgeable and were a great help to us. We would highly recommend this great value hotel in the centre of Rhodes town.

Amazing hotel! perfect location with just a short walk to the old town, the beach, bus station and surrounded by restaurants and cafes! All staff members were so polite and helpful, going out of their way to help with our questions about activities and public transport! The pool was quiet and sheltered from any wind, and the breakfast was definitely a bonus especially if you are on a budget. The reception and dining area was very aesthetically pleasing, and the rooms were perfect for the affordable price. The added bonus was fresh towels everyday, and even more towels free of charge for lying by the pool. When we return to rhodes, will definitely be staying again. The staff made the stay 5 star by going the extra mile!
