Angela Downtown Hotel

What a relaxing stay!

First of all my requests were accommodated before I arrived, late check in, late check out and since I have allergies I had hypoallergenic pillows and bedding also the room was sparkly clean every day! The swimming pool small but adequate and quiet as it is at the back of the hotel.
The receptionists Anna and Despina were absolute stars! They had great recommendations when it comes to restaurants and night life all tailored to what you like and they were so accurate on giving directions we never got lost!
Highly recommend, your life as a tourist will just be much easier if you choose this place.

The walls are so thin, we got woken up at 7am every morning because of the cleaning lady talking very loudly and dropping stuff, also other guests who talked we could hear so clearly. It wasn’t just a bit of noise it was actually so loud I couldn’t sleep anymore, the noise stopped around 9:30am. The rest of the hotel: The pool is lovely although a bit cold. The breakfast is good, it’s simple but still a lot of options cold and warm. The staff is very nice. The room has a nice view and good airconditioning, it did have some broken lights and the bathroom was kinda weird.

Great hotel, really nice location. The shops, restaurants and the beach are all close by. The rooms were very nice, clean and housekeeping cleaned daily. The walls were a bit thin as our room was located on a corner close by the stairwell and elevator, so keep that in mind when booking!
The pool was also nice, a little small, but it wasn’t crowded at all during our stay so it was perfect.

The staff is really nice! The breakfast was great. Really no complaints during our stay! It was great!

Room was renovated, very comfortable bed. My room was cleaned every day at the same time.

Staff is very friendly and hospitable, if you need a taxi you can order it at the reception and it comes on time.

Location of the hotel is perfect, beach is 5 mins away, so are the port and city centre.

There’s a pool in the back, perfect place to chill when it’s too windy at the beach.

What I really enjoyed was the gym. All the machines are new, gym is spacious, clean and feels fresh.

What could be added for perfect experience: iced coffee for breakfast and smart tv.

Great hotel, perfect location to stay in the city and most of all very friendly staff .

Hotel has modern feel to lobby, new gym which has good equiptment range.
Pool area is nice with lovely loungers, kept clean.
Hotel is clean, the staff take great pride in keeping it this way
Reception team are kind, polite, always say hi and help where and if you need it. We felt this really made our stay.
Great breakfast selection, not too busy.
Beds are comfortable and very big
Situated away from the main busy tourist areas but surrounded by local restaurants and coffee places which all sell much nicer food.
Walkable to the busier areas / port etc.

Overall as two female travellers always felt very safe in area and in hotel

- Rooms are nice but are somewhat dated, our bathroom had old peeling silicone.
- Noise really travels through the vent syatem - we had a very loud quest next door who came back at midnight and made noise until 2am. Reception did kindly sort this when we informed them of it.
- TV only had 4 working channels, I didn't inform reception of this as it wasn't a massive issue (the area around is too beautiful to be watching TV!).

Ok, but staff a bit rude
The hotel was modern, clean and tidy. The room was small but suitable for a 1 night stay. Staff on reception during check-in were not very friendly and charged me for the room, even though I had paid by using my saved vouchers. This was rectified later in the day by the manager. There was no secure place to leave luggage and we were told that we could just put our bags outside the gym. Not ideal and didn't want to leave our belongings in such a public area. We actually went to another hotel to leave our bags as they were much more accommodating.

We stayed at this hotel for a week and had a good experience. The rooms were cleaned every day although at different times so hard to judge when to not be in the way. Our room had a nice sized balcony too with view of the pool. The only thing I would mention was the bathroom needed modernising but I believe they are in the process of modernising all of the rooms. One suggestion I would make also is to have shampoo/body wash and conditioner available as this wasn’t the case and you had hand cream and I believe swapping this would be a good change.

The pool area is nice. Small which is to be expected as it’s in the town. The sun travels around the pool so you do have to move around a bit to catch the sun. The beanbags should be changed for more beds as I think this would suit people better.

There’s also a brand new gym on the basement floor which is a great addition for guests.

The breakfast area is lovely and there is a wide selection of food available whether it be pastries, toast, continental selection, hot meats/eggs, cereal and greek yogurt. Plenty for everyone too. A bit more fresh fruit would be nice as it was just one plate of one type per day. Breakfast is served till 10.30am which is a great time as I believe it gives everyone a chance to avail of it.

Staff are friendly and will always interact with you when passing and help you if needed.

This hotel is a great pick for being central to the old town and the beach. 10 minute walk to each if even. There are lovely restaurants and bars around towards the beach direction that are much more reasonable than the old town.

Overall I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Rhodes Old Town. We would stay there again if we returned.
